Acting talent can run in the family, and many may not realize that some popular actors are related to one another. This is the case for the Skarsgård family. Veteran actor Stellan Skarsgård is not only well known in Hollywood but so are three of his sons.

Alexander Skarsgård was the first one to find great success on True Blood, but he isn't the only brother who got bit by the acting bug. Gustaf Skarsgård: Cursed (2020) - 5.9

Cursed is a 2020 show on Netflix that reimagines a classic Arthurian tale, but this time focused on the fey witch, Nimue. Co-starring in the show is actor Gustaf Skarsgård, who plays the legendary character of Merlin. The show follows the journey of Nimue who, after her mother's death, must deliver the Sword of Power to Merlin.

Skarsgård played the role swimmingly and had many fans giving praise for his unique portrayal of the character. His handsome looks added a new level of intrigue compared to the old and white-bearded one from legends.

Bill Skarsgård: Hemlock Grove (2013–2015) - 7.1

Hemlock Grove was a horror series back in 2013 that had a considerable following. The show only ran for three seasons and was based around a fictional town with bizarre events and people. The arrival of a new student starts a stir of murders, and underneath a town full of seemingly ordinary people are scary supernatural entities.

Bill Skarsgård co-starred as Roman Godrey, a type of vampire being known as Upir. Skargård had the haunting and chiseled looks to play the role.

Bill Skarsgård: The Devil All The Time (2020) - 7.1

Bill Skarsgård was just one of many great actors in the star-studded cast of the Netflix movie The Devil All the Time. The gothic thriller explores a number of intertwining stories of murder and crime in a rural community.

The movie also stars the likes of Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, and Sebastian Stan with Skarsgård playing the father of Holland's character in the movie's earlier scenes. It is an intense and disturbing story brought to life by some very skilled performers.

Alexander Skarsgård: Melancholia (2011) - 7.2

Lars von Trier is not the kind of filmmaker audiences would expect to make a movie about a world-ending threat. But Melancholia is a much different movie than something like Armageddon.

The movie stars Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Gainsborough as sisters in a strained relationship which is further complicated by the arrival of a planet that threatens to collide with earth. Alexander Skarsgård plays Dunst's new husband who cannot understand his wife's unhappiness. It is the typical thought-provoking and challenging movie von Trier is known for.

Bill Skarsgård: It (2017) - 7.3

It may be hard to spot him under the layers of makeup and prosthetics, but Bill Skarsgård played the terrifying role of the shape-shifting clown Pennywise in It. The remake of the popular horror film was a major success, and partly because of Skarsgård's portrayal of the notorious murderous clown.

Skargård has said in previous interviews that the creepy smile and rolled eyes are actually a trick he used to do as a child. It leveled up the scare factor into absolutely terrifying. He even once scared his young castmates. Skarsgård was the perfect fit for the role.

Alexander Skarsgård: The Little Drummer Girl (2018) - 7.4

The miniseries The Little Drummer Girl was based on the 1983 novel of the same name. Skarsgård co-starred alongside the show's main character, Charmian "Charlie" Ross (Florence Pugh).

The show revolves around an aspiring actress getting entangled in an espionage plot. Becker is a young man she meets on holiday who then becomes her new lover. Unbeknownst to her, he has another persona that he keeps hidden. Skarsgård captivates fans as a handsome love interest who then turns out to be an Israeli intelligence agent.

Bill Skarsgård: Castle Rock (2018) - 7.6

Bill Skarsgård appeared in another Stephen King on-screen work, but this time based on the fictional town of Castle Rock, Maine. Castle Rock is a horror anthology series that interweaves many of King's famous tales, a fun cast of actors and Skarsgård played a significant role in the show's first season.

He played "The Kid" or "The Angel," who would later make a guest appearance in season two. The character is a prisoner at the famous Shawshank State Penitentiary. He's not there by choice and was hidden in an unused part of the prison. Once released, his character crosses paths with the main character. Skarsgård brought eeriness to the role that was chilling.

Bill Skarsgård: Nine Days (2020) - 7.6

One of the most recent projects from the Skarsgård brothers is the intimate drama Nine Days. The ensemble story stars Winston Duke as a reclusive man who interviews potential human souls to see if they will have a chance to be born.

It is a unique premise that explores a lot of interesting ideas about life. It also features a fantastic cast including Zazie Beetz, B.D. Wong, and Bill Skarsgård as some of the interview subjects.

Bill Skarsgård: Deadpool 2 (2018) - 7.7

After the box office success of the first Deadpool film, Ryan Reynolds reprised his role for a sequel. This time the cast included more mutant characters. Bill Skarsgård played a supporting role in a number of scenes. Deadpool organizes a group of mutants who he calls the X-Force, a rip-off of X-Men. A member of the team is Skarsgård's character, Zeitgeist.

His powers are a bit peculiar, but Skarsgård pulled them off well. His character spits out acidic vomit. Sadly, the role was short-lived when his character and other members of the group are met with a heinous accidental death in one of Deadpool's funniest gags.

Alexander Skarsgård: True Blood (2008–2014) - 7.8

Alexander Skarsgård is best known for his longest-running role in the popular vampire series, True Blood. True Blood became the raunchier and more adult version of The Vampire Diaries that became a cult phenomenon. Skarsgård played one of the leading roles as Eric Northman.

Fans were divided between rooting for Eric or his frenemy Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). Fans fell in love with Skarsgård's portrayal of the hunky pale vampire and are hoping he is involved in the True Blood reboot.

Gustaf Skarsgård: Vikings (2013–2020) - 8.5

Gustaf Skarsgård takes the number three spot with the hit show VikingsThe 2013 drama has been going strong for six seasons and depicts the tumultuous journey of the ancient Vikings. Skarsgård plays a major role in the show as Floki.

Floki is a shipbuilder and close friend of the main character, Ragnar (Travis Fimmel). In the show, his expertise in ships changes the tide. Skarsgård's role is fitting for the actor, who bought an eccentric persona to the character loosely based on the historical Hrafna-Flóki Vilgerðarson. Skarsgård has a playful smirk and eyes that suit a charismatic Floki.

Alexander Skarsgård got his first major break in the United States with the intense HBO drama Generation Kill. The series follows a reporter who is embedded with a military company during the Iraq War and chronicles their experiences.

Skarsgård headlined the show as Sgt. Brad 'Iceman' Colbert, the leader of a marine outfit. The show was a realistic and gritty look at modern warfare and the soldiers that fight in these conflicts. It also served as proof that Sgt. Brad 'Iceman' Colbert was ready to be a star.

Alexander Skarsgård: Big Little Lies (2017–2019) - 8.5

The Emmy award-winning drama Big Little Lies has an impressive cast of actors that helped win the title of Best Limited Series. One of those actors was Alexander Skarsgård, who played the role of Perry Wright. He was the husband of Celeste (Nicole Kidman), one of the main characters.

His role was a supporting character, but brought a lot of turmoil and intrigue to the drama show, mainly because he was a central antagonist. Perry isn't the world's greatest husband who abuses his wife and is never actually home. Skarsgård was convincing, and the audience absolutely hated his character beyond the physical abuse of his wife.

Gustaf Skarsgård: Westworld (2016– ) - 8.6

Westworld has had audiences and critics buzzing. The science fiction story of a dystopian future has received critical acclaim for its acting, visuals, and storyline. The show centers around a technologically advanced amusement park hosted by androids. It later expands into the 21st century being controlled by AI in everyday life.

In the second season, Gustaf Skarsgård became a new character, playing the role of Karl Strand. His role is a central antagonist in the season and is the Head of Operations at Delos. His main goal is to stop the host uprising.
