The great thing about streaming platforms is their ability to stream shows that are available on television. Or in some cases shows that were canceled and picked up by the platform. It allows viewers to binge-watch or catch up on an episode or season with ease and without those pesky commercials.

It's a dream for viewers who like to sit back and watch an entire storyline unfold before them without having to wait for next week. There are countless television shows that are available on Netflix to enjoy. If you're a fan of the shows The CW has created and aired on tv but only got intrigued after its debut, don't worry. Netflix has more than enough shows from the network to binge-watch and get hooked on.

The Flash (2014): 7.7

The CW has become well known for creating and bringing to life DC comic book characters on the small screen. One of their most popular being the famous superhero, The Flash. This isn't the first time audiences have seen the speedster on television. In 2014, The CW introduced its own version with actor Grant Gustin in the main role as Barry Allen.

It follows the story of Barry Allen whose father lands in jail after being accused of killing his mother when he was a child. But something unexplainable happened that night. Barry becomes a crime scene investigator in hopes of helping his father. One night, the particle accelerator explodes at S.T.A.R. Labs giving Barry the ability of superspeed.

The 100 (2014): 7.7

The 100 takes place in a post-apocalyptic world tied together with science-fiction. The show was loosely based on a novel series of the same name. The show is about trying to survive in a new world 97 years after a nuclear apocalypse. Those who survived live on space shuttles but over the years, they have reached maximum capacity.

In order to find a new place to live, they sent 100 juvenile criminals to Earth. These juveniles must find ways to survive and ultimately help decide if Earth is inhabitable. That's not all. These juveniles discover that some survived the apocalypse and have been on Earth the whole time.

The Vampire Diaries (2009-2017): 7.7

The Vampire Diaries is inarguably one of the most successful shows to have been aired on The CW. It was during a time when Twilight was immensely popular amongst teens and skyrocketed the supernatural genre. It was a mix of supernatural creatures, the beyond, drama, and steamy love triangles and romance.

It starts by following the story of Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) who is suffering the tragic loss of her parents. She soon meets a newcomer to Mystic Falls, Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). There's an undeniable connection and she finds herself falling for him. A series of odd occurrences begin and Elena discovers that Stefan's a vampire.

Hart Of Dixie (2011-2015) :7.7

In 2011, The CW aired the comedy-drama Hart of Dixie. It tells the tale of having to change your life career when things don't go as planned. Actress Rachel Bilson played the lead role of Dr. Zoe Hart. She played the role for the entire four seasons of the show. The show centered is Dr.Zoe Hart's dream of becoming a heart surgeon plummeting.

She failed to secure a fellowship in New York and instead takes up an offer to become a general practitioner in Alabama. Fans loved the show's charismatic and unique characters. They also enjoyed the shows lightheartedness, romance, and sentimental moments. Although fans were upset about the end of the show, they can still watch reruns on Netflix.

All American (2018): 7.7

The CW released the sports drama show, All American back in 2018 inspired by the life of professional American football player Spencer Paysinger. Paysinger was a former football player who rose the ranks when attending Beverly Hills High School in South Los Angeles. He went on to play for New York Giants, Jets and two other teams.

The show follows the same backstory as Spencer James (Daniel Ezra) is recruited to attend Beverly Hills High School. The show takes it further as it discusses the clashing of two different worlds and backgrounds. All the while there are teammates who are unhappy with sharing the spotlight. Spencer struggles to find his own stance.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2015-2019): 7.8

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was a romantic musical comedy-drama that was a guilty pleasure for many tv lovers. It was quirky, a little bit bizarre, and overall full of laughs and drama. The show had unique qualities that made it stand out as a show. The title of the show says it all. How far will someone go to get a boyfriend? In this show, the main character goes through extreme lengths to do so.

Rachel Bloom stars as the main character Rebecca Bunch. Bunch is a well know real-estate lawyer who works for one of the top New York law firms. She panics after receiving a promotion to junior partner and bumps into an old boyfriend from childhood. He reveals that he's moving back to their hometown. Bunch, having fallen in love in a matter of seconds, decides to uproot her life and follow him.

 Jane The Virgin (2014-2019): 7.8

Jane the Virgin was one of The CW's highly successful romantic comedy-dramas that takes a fluke accident into a comedic storyline. The show became popular for using common Latin telenovelas tropes and devices seeing as the main character is a Latina woman. It adds an even better level of intrigue and comedy.

Jane Gloriana Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) is a hardworking Latina who made a commitment to wait until marriage. But after a routine check-up with her doctor, she falls pregnant. No one believes the bizarre circumstances due to her personal commitment. That's until it's revealed that the doctor accidentally artificially inseminated her. She becomes entangled in a giant web of relationships, love, drama, and raising a child.

iZombie (2015-2019): 7.9

Imagine going to a cool boat party where everyone turns into a ravenous zombie? It's not exactly the best experience. A medical resident named Liv Moore (Rose Mclver) wakes up onshore and uncovers to have become a zombie. Having to change her life, she becomes a coroner's assistant for the Medical Examiner'soffice.

In order to satiate her hunger, she consumes the brains of the dead bodies. Her consumption of brains allows her to take on the person's characteristics and last memories. Liv decides to help the police uncover the truth and apprehended the murderers. Fans loved that the show had a bit of everything to satiate everyone's needs from drama, crime, horror, and even a bit of romance.

The Originals (2013-2018): 8.2

After the immense success of The Vampire Diaries and the fans' attachment to certain characters, The CW created a spin-off series titled, The Originals. It shifted the storyline to focus on the Mikaelson family from the first show. Especially, the loved yet hated character of Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan).

Klaus returns to New Orleans after his end in the original show. He reunites with his family to uncover the devious plots again him and to regain power. It plays into the supernatural politics that create tension amongst its inhabitants. Along the way, old characters reemerge such as the werewolf Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) that will soon play a more vital role that will change Klaus's life forever.

Supernatural (2005-2020): 8.4

It wouldn't make much sense to not include Supernatural in the list of available CW shows on Netflix. Supernatural is the longest-running fantasy tv series. It has gone on for a whopping fifteen seasons and is a staple show when it comes to the supernatural genre. The show originally aired on the WB before being taken on by the CW.

Audiences fell in love from the start and became attached to the two central characters Sam and Dean Winchester played by actors Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. The show follows two brothers who are brought back into the world of the supernatural to finish what their father started. Along the way, the brothers become more important than anyone realized and the key to saving everyone.
