Out of all the signs, there aren't many like the Capricorns. They are so determined to reach their goals, they have no time for nonsense. They are always serious, focused, and disciplined, they are great at keeping their emotions in check to prevent them from being a distraction.

A Capricorn is never satisfied, they value hard work and looking back on a day after giving it their all on a task. They are great leaders and fair people, bringing most to gravitate towards them. Looking at our favorite television shows, let's look at our favorite Capricorn characters.

They have unique personalities making them interesting and lovable characters from their determination and ambition to their persistent and at times sensitive nature, Capricorns are true friends to the people in their lives. There are some great Capricorn protagonists out there in beloved shows from Abed in Community with his immense knowledge and love of pop culture to Rory in Gilmore Girls with her organized schedule for academics, surely some of your favorite characters will appear on this list. 

Abed Nadir - Community (2009-2015)

Abed was an endless source of knowledge on Community and had a lot of similar traits to the Capricorn personality easily making him one of the most relatable and lovable Capricorns on television.

Abed was persistent and at times relentless whether it was trying to figure out who the boss was on Who's The Boss? or taking a deep dive into Nicholas Cage's filmography or even building a pillow and blanket fort with best friend Troy Abed always gave everything his all. He was practical, realistic, and sensitive as well.

Juliet O'Hara - Psych (2006-2014)

Detective Juliet O'Hara is another determined personality who has a similar personality to the Capricorn and is a main protagonist on the comedic police procedural show Psych.

Juliet is a realist and even though she does get pulled into Shawn and Gus' antics she always keeps a level head and is able to get the investigation back on track. She's more of a disciplined by-the-book character although she doesn't argue with Shawn and Gus' unorthodox approach since they get results.

Oscar Martinez - The Office (2005-2013)

Oscar Martinez has a very similar personality to the typical Capricorn personality as he's an extremely intelligent, persistent, organized, and proper character who likes things done the right way and that's usually how he does things.

Oscar often has a difficult time with a lot of other people in the office, particularly Angela, because of his stubborn nature, but overall he does bond and is part of the co-worker group of friends.

Rory Gilmore - Gilmore Girls (2000-2007)

Rory was always a gifted student and has several similar traits to the Capricorn personality. Rory is a determined and ambitious intellectual who has her entire academic life planned out and she succeeds in almost everything she does.

She's a responsible character, especially compared to her mother Lorelai who is a bit more hectic, Rory is organized and a realist. She's disciplined, but can be a bit stubborn especially when things don't go exactly her way.

Jed Bartlet - The West Wing (1999-2006)

The West Wing had countless lovable characters from its main characters to the supporting players to those who just appeared for a few episodes in the beloved show. Jed Bartlet was the lovable President and fearless leader of the United States and more personally led his staff.

Bartlet is a character that has both strengths and weaknesses that are similar to the typical Capricorn personality. Bartlet is an ambitious, determined, and intelligent character while also being stubborn, rarely compromising, and a bit of a workaholic, but he is the President of the United States.

Kate Kane/Batwoman - Batwoman (2019-)

Much like her more famous cousin Bruce, Kate Kane patrols the city of Gotham at night and serves as a source of inspiration for the people in it. She's very stoic, rarely showing any emotions, and always too concentrated on her mission to make friends or even start relationships.

She has no time for nonsense, trying to prove herself as a hero rather than a female icon or the subject of sexist tabloids. Although she has Luke Fox on her side, she prefers to work alone and figure out things on her own, showing off her Capricorn independence.

Dr. Christina Yang - Grey's Anatomy (2005-2019)

In a show with a lot of drama and messy relationships, Christina Yang is one of the only ones that never quite gets caught up in it. She's all work and business and rarely has time for anything else. She is a model worker for the rest of the crew and as serious as she looks, she has an incredible bedside manner.

Due to her commitment to her job and patients, she's highly respected among her colleagues and she is arguably one of the best doctors on the show.

Alice Quinn - The Magicians (2015-2020)

Alice Quinn was introduced as a snobby and condescending young magician with a ton of potential and arguably the best of her class. She softens up as the show goes on and she falls in love with Quentin but her determination and desire to be the best never change.

She is always looking to learn more, with her face always stuffed in a book and taking on spells way out of her limitations. Sometimes she's too busy to make friends and it's hard for her to ask for help or depend on others, a true Capricorn.

Leslie Knope - Parks & Rec (2009-2015)

She's everyone's favorite boss and one of the most well-known tv feminists in tv shows. She is all about girl power and is no stranger to taking on tasks all by herself and excelling. She makes a habit of proving people wrong and looking after her department and being a respected member of the government.

She literally has a reputation for getting things done and goes above and beyond to make sure everything she touches is done to the best of its ability. Her energy matches her determination and her motivations make others around her want to work just as hard.

Stefan Salvatore - The Vampire Diaries (2009-2017)

The younger and more level headed of the Salvatore brothers, Stefan never gave up on a love that spanned over 100 years. He's practical, disciplined and unlike many of his vampire "friends", he's sensitive towards humans and avoids drinking blood at all costs.

He may not be a perfect Capricorn but he has a lot of solid Capricorn qualities like his discipline when it comes to blood and his commitment to his friends, and even brother despite his evil ways.

Buffy Summers - Buffy The Vampire Slayer (1997-2003)

If there was a Capricorn queen, it would undoubtedly go to Buffy Summers. Arguably the best vampire slayer in all of pop culture, she's not the biggest or the strongest, but her sheer determination put her a top of the monster hunters.

She puts in 110% in everything she does, despite being a teenager she accomplishes things that most people twice her age wouldn't even dream of.

The most level-headed and one of the most valuable members of Team Flash, Caitlin is quite a Jane of all trades. From being the team doctor to the meta-human expert, all the way to being a superhero in her own rights, she gives it all in anything she does.

She's often the voice of reason for the rest of the team and her commitment is quite admirable. She has always found a way to shine in a world full of speedsters, mechanic geniuses, and hero cops.

Dr. Elliot Reid-  Scrubs (2001-2010)

In the beginning, she was a timid and insecure doctor in a friendly competition with J.D. Even then she showed her true Capricorn qualities with her determination to be the best and reliable doctor.

As the show progressed, she showed more and more signs of her Capricorn nature by being focused, determined, and learning to control her emotions, and even standing up to Doctor Perry.

Arya Stark - Game Of Thrones (2010-2019)

Arya quickly became one of the fan-favorite characters due to her bravery and determination to get revenge on the murder of her family. She may not be the biggest or the strongest but her commitment to perfecting her craft and unrelenting bravery to do it all at a young age.

She manages to even take down the Antagonists of the show despite being the youngest member of the Stark Family. Her end in the show left a lot of unanswered questions but as a Capricorn, you can bet she's off doing some great things.

Squidward Tentacles - Spongebob Squarepants (1999-)

Squidward may not be the first person you think of when you think Capricorn but he is secretly one of the closest things to it. He's dedicated to his clarinet and avoiding his annoying neighbors, he's competitive enough to try to outwork Squilliam, and he's stubborn and picky about the things he likes.

He may be grumpy, but he keeps his emotions in check to avoid being let down by the bad luck that always follows him.
