Netflix has renewed everyone’s favorite celibacy-based reality show for a fourth season: Too Hot To Handle is coming back. And rather than announcing that the show would return in 2023, Netflix has done what they do best, and left their audience with a cliffhanger: Too Hot To Handle is “coming soon”.

Fans of Too Hot to Handle had better buckle up. Because in the coming season, hearts may break. Contestants may infuriate their fellow castmates with a series of expensive rule breaks. Contestants may even become so upset over the whole experience that they voluntarily leave the island before the experiment is over. But hopefully not; hopefully the season four cast has a better time than these ten prior islanders.

Haley Cureton

Haley got a raw deal. Despite only breaking one rule — sharing a $3,000 kiss with rebellious island-mate Francesca — Haley ended up getting kicked off the island. In episode 6, Lana called a group meeting where she would announce in front of everyone that Haley was going home.

To add insult to injury, the talking cone declared publicly that Haley was a rule-breaker who wasn’t "making any progress", even going as far as saying Haley had a “negative impact” on the cast. It's pretty arbitrary to eliminate Haley, who broke one rule when she kissed Francesca, but not Francesca, who broke more rules than anyone in the house!

Carly Lawrence

Fans of season two will remember Carly’s fast-burning romance with Arizona Rattlers lineman Chase. Carly fell fast for her large-footed footballer and the two carried on a fiery romance that included $6,000 worth of rule breaks rule breaks shared with castmate Chase DeMoor.

But Carly and Chase's relationship would end as soon as it began, and it wasn't pretty: Chase set his eyes on new islander, Tabitha. Heartbroken, Toronto model Carly had to watch from afar as Chase and Tabitha's romance flourished. Carly was even in the room during one of Chase and Tabitha's $7,000 violations, during which Tabitha said she "felt his willy — big deal."

Chloe Veitch

One of the most popular cast members, Chloe Veitch was among the most well-behaved islanders of season 1. Despite being the youngest cast member of her season, (At just 20 years old, Chloe wasn’t even old enough to drink at the time of filming) Chloe maintained self-control in the face of temptation… most of the time. After staving off temptation all the way until episode 5, Chloe caved in, breaking the rules and sharing a kiss with new island-mate Kori.

Things were great between them until he met Francesca and forgot all about his prospective woman. Needless to say, Chloe wasn't pleased. Like Carly from season two, Chloe would have to watch from the sidelines, helpless as Kori pursued somebody else.

Patrick Mullen

Patrick runs his hand through his hair on Too Hot To Handle season 3

Hawaiian model Patrick Mullen got a bad rap. Patrick didn’t break rules or hearts, but he did seriously make Georgia feel uncomfortable. A sweet gesture to some, Georgia seemed to cringe when Patrick sang her a handwritten song.

Ultimately, Georgia sought love elsewhere, and so Patrick did too — by leaving the island behind. Patrick was the only islander in season three to leave voluntarily. He said it was because there was “nothing for [him] there,” but it was likely because he felt misunderstood and embarrassed that his female cast-mates weren't responding to his flirtatious songwriting.

Holly Scarfone

Holly Scarfone played the game to her best ability, but after falling head over heels for Nathan, she couldn’t resist breaking more than a few rules. One night of rule-breaking between Holly and Nate cost the islanders a particularly large sum — $30,000! For that, it looked like Holly was going to have to pay a price: the exile of her lover. When Nathan was temporarily removed from the island, Holly looked like she was ready to go home.

Luckily for Holly, Nathan returned after a reforming period of yelling on the top of a mountain — led by THTH’s go-to love guru. Unluckily for Holly, the two couldn’t keep their flame alive after leaving the island. According to a few passionate Instagram stories, Nathan didn't remain faithful to Holly once he got off the island. Like Cam from the same season, Nathan didn't learn the lesson that Too Hot To Handle aimed to teach, and ended up hurting Holly in the process.

Harry & Beaux

Harry and Beaux lay on the bed together in Too Hot Too Handle 3

These two had to be combined because they were a true package deal — Harry & Beaux were a fan-favorite couple of Too Hot To Handle's third season. Beaux was interested in the One Direction frontman look-alike from the get-go but was turned off when Harry expressed attraction to another island-mate. Though they remained friends for a time, their bond grew, eventually receiving Lana’s green light to share a passionate moment together. Harry and Beaux went on to make Too Hot To Handle history as the first couple to win the prize.

Though THTH fans had high hopes that this burgeoning love would carry on after the show, fate wasn't so kind. The definition of a slow-burning love story, Harry and Beaux started off as just friends, left the island as a power couple, and ended just as they began: just friends, marking the death of a great relationship for both contestants.

Nathan Webb

English native Nathan Webb was incredibly well-behaved for a contestant on Too Hot to Handle. Nathan formed an early bond with fellow islander and lawyer Larissa, even earning a romantic, overnight stay with the legally blonde bombshell. But despite all of the temptation in the air, the two survived the night without breaking any of Lana’s rules — something that Nathan would later admit he regretted deeply.

And it’s no wonder why he regretted being so well behaved. Despite not breaking a single rule, Nathan wasn’t even made available for the final vote! Ironically, all four finalists that were given the opportunity to win the grand prize had incurred multiple rule breaks, while Nathan hadn't broken a single rule during his entire stay. Nathan’s story proves that in the game of Too Hot To Handle, it’s better to start rebellious and become reformed than it is to follow the rules the whole time.

Melinda Melrose

Melinda Melrose on Too Hot To Handle season 2

Melinda was the first to break Too Hot To Handle’s biggest rule during her stay at the scenic Turks and Caicos villa — but it takes more than one person to tango. And in this case, Melinda’s partner was none other than Parisian basketball player-turned-actor Marvin Anthony. Melinda and Marvin’s intimate moment wasn’t some one-off fling — the two were smitten with each other. During the last episode, when it was time for the islanders to decide who would walk away with the prize money, it was Melinda who convinced the cast that Marvin was the most deserving of the $55,000. They went on to leave the island as a couple.

Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be for Melinda and Marvin. During the reunion, it was revealed that although the couple had arranged a romantic getaway together (including booking an Airbnb and flight) Marvin canceled at the last minute. Melinda was left to decide whether she wanted to go on their romantic excursion alone, or not at all! Despite being her best self, Melinda missed out on both the riches and the relationship.

Emily Miller

Emily Faye Miller on Too Hot To Handle season 2

Anyone who’s ever been cheated on more than once by their partner can relate to Emily Miller from season two. Emily coupled up with self-proclaimed nerd Cam early on in her Too Hot to Handle journey. After sharing a bed (and a kiss), Emily was appalled when she caught Cam dismissing their relationship with new contestant Christina.

Emily considered this to be demeaning, dismissive, and even went as far as calling it emotional cheating. Still, she persevered, and the couple made it off the island in one piece, ultimately deciding to make it official, and move in together. Cam and Emily lasted more than year, attending red carpet events and posting sweet social media messages to one another. Unfortunately, it all came crashing down when Cam was caught cheating on Emily once again. This time, it was more than just emotional and that was enough for Emily to call it quits with Cam — a painful end to a serious relationship.
