Netflix's new dating show, Too Hot To Handle cast member Matthew has not only been on reality TV before on America's Next Top Model but also had a cameo in a scripted comedy. Matthew was in one episode of the hit show New Girl.

On Too Hot To Handle Matthew made a strong first impression, not only on the fellow castmates but on viewers as well. Matthew was instantly compared to Jesus due to his long dark locks. He made his entrance onto the tropical island in a unique outfit considering the season. He wore a very hipster style look with the mandatory, though questionable considering the heat, choice of a beanie concealing the aforementioned long hair. He removed the beanie and the elastic holding his hair in a bun with the flair and drama fitting of a slow-mo montage. This however was were his drama ended.

While he had a few memorable scenes from the new Netflix reality TV series, overall he tended to face into the back a bit. This, however, is not the case with his appearance on the show that made Zooey Deschanel a household name. Matthew was only on New Girl for one episode. His actual screen time was minimal at best. However, his character was pivotal in much of the show's plot at the time and a catalyst for much of the drama in the Season 1 finale. Fans of the show remember the epic finale well. While stranded in the desert with the entire gang, Schmidt saw a text from Gino on CeCe's phone and proceeded to try to "White Fang" her by setting her loose to be with her own kind.

Now how does this have anything to do with Matthew? Matthew played the role of Gino. Gino was a male model who worked with CeCe and in a previous episode, while visiting the set, Schmidt was very jealous and threatened. Convinced a model like CeCe would want to be with someone else on her "level." It was and remains one of the pivotal moments in their own on-and-off relationship and this was all because of how hot Matthew, er... Gino is.

So while his stay in the New Girl universe was brief, he definitely stirred up a ton of drama. It may have been a little more fun to see more of the drama from him on Too Hot To Handle. He's not a stranger to reality tv drama either as he provided plenty during his stint on America's Next Top Model. He may have played it more low key on Too Hot To Handle, but he was still more than just eye candy as he proved one of the more reasonable and level minded of the cast members. We'll just agree to completely overlook the painfully awkward attempt to flirt with Madison and let him leave with his deep thinker in a beanie image intact.
