Spoilers for Midnight Suns #3 by Marvel ComicsMove over Doctor Strange, there's a new Sorcerer Supreme in town, and it just so happens to be Tony Stark. In the latest issue of Midnight Suns by Marvel Comics, the supernatural team navigates through the Dark Dimension after being banished there by Clea Strange over their possible involvement in a universe-shattering vision of the future. Inside the realm, the team stumbles upon a variant of Tony Stark, whose magical prowess and powers are exactly what they need to escape the dark reality.

Marvel's new Midnight Suns team has formed to take on a serious magical threat and prevent a vision of a future apocalypse at the hands of Strange Academy Student Zoe Laveau from happening. However, as the team, featuring Wolverine, Nico Minoru, the Spirit Rider, Blade, Magik, and Wolverine, began their battle against Lord Valtorr and his dark army, Clea Strange teleported the group to the edge of the Dark Dimension in hopes that moving them to a new reality would prevent the dark visions from occurring. Trapped inside the Dark Dimension, the Midnight Suns just got an unexpected assist from Tony Stark, who became the Sorcerer Supreme of his reality.

In Midnight Suns #3 by Ethan Sacks, Luigi Zagaria, Antonio Fabela, Carlos Lao, Stacie Zucker, and VC's Joe Sabino from Marvel Comics, Wolverine and the titular superteam make their way into a tower inside the Dark Dimension, looking to find a way back to their reality. After encountering the Children of Mhuruuks and taking down the vampire-like creatures, they find out the monsters have been guarding a magical door. When opened, it's revealed they've been keeping Tony Stark's Sorcerer Supreme shackled inside. While Blade comments he'd much rather have a Doctor Strange variant than a Stark one, the hero actually helps the Midnight Suns in a major way.

Tony Stark's Sorcerer Supreme Might Not Be Doctor Strange, But He's Still Valuable

Tony Stark Doctor Strange Marvel Comics

While the Midnight Suns might be disappointed to see Tony Stark's face and not Doctor Strange's, the Sorcerer Supreme of an unnamed reality actually proves to be a big asset in the group's mission to escape the Dark Dimension. He forges armor for the team, which will allow the Midnight Suns protection against the Vapors of Valtorr and their dimension. Without Stark's help, there's little chance the heroes could escape the Dark Dimension and have the necessary gear to take on the massive magical threat.

While the new version of Tony Stark isn't the hero the Midnight Suns expected to see, his magical powers and armor forging end up being the exact upgrades the team needs to take on the Vapors of Valtorr and stop the dark vision of the Marvel Universe's destruction from occurring. It's also cool to see that somewhere in the Marvel Multiverse, Tony Stark, not Doctor Strange, became the Sorcerer Supreme - a fun plotline and revelation that hopefully gets followed up on one day in the future. Midnight Suns #3 by Marvel Comics is in comic book stores now.
