CKY Drummer Jess Margera recently appeared on an episode of The Behind Closed Doors Podcast and revealed that his band's music may feature in the next Tony Hawk's Pro Skater entry. Last year's THPS 1 and 2 remasters were leaked in advance due in part to insider details making the rounds online.

Many may recall, however, that other bits of information about the collection made the rounds thanks to musicians. For example, ahead of Activision's official THPS 1 and 2 reveal, professional skater and musician Jason Dill prematurely claimed one of his songs would appear on the bundle's soundtrack. Another artist has apparently let the cat of the bag, hinting that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater may ride again in a brand-new installment.

Stealthyfrog, a ResetEra user, stumbled across an interview the Behind Closed Doors Podcast conducted with CKY drummer Jess Margera late last month. During the discussion, Margera was asked if the band ever appeared on any soundtracks for the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series. The musician answered affirmatively, then added, "I believe we're doing the new one coming out, too." This doesn't seem to be a misunderstanding with regards to last year's release, since Margera went on to talk about his son's love of the remastered collection on PlayStation 5. Thus, it's possible the drummer prematurely let the cat out of the bag.

As always, rumors and speculation should be taken with a grain of salt. This especially holds true since there's no evidence to support that Activision has any interest in further pursuing Tony Hawk-branded projects. But the publisher potentially having another Tony Hawk's Pro Skater on the docket raises a few questions. Chief among them is which development crew sits at the helm?

Earlier this year, Activision Blizzard announced that THPS 1 and 2 studio Vicarious Visions had been folded into Blizzard Entertainment. The crew responsible for the beloved THPS remakes, and several other timeless Activision releases, joined the Blizzard vertical as a support group. Reportedly, the team is now hard at work on the eagerly-anticipated Diablo II remake. Taking all of this into consideration, one can't help but wonder where a supposedly new Tony Hawk's Pro Skater installment fits into the equation. If such a project is presently in the works, reason suggests the remake developers are not leading the charge.
