A new leak suggests Tony Hawk Pro Skater and other Activision games may be getting remasters soon. Skating games were at one time a massive market in the gaming industry, but the last entry for the genre was Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5, which was a critical failure. At the moment, there are no skating games for current-gen systems, although fan demand for a Tony Hawk remake continues to pop up from time to time online.

Over the years, there have been leaks and rumors suggesting other skateboarding games that might release. EA, for example, hasn't released a Skate game in almost ten years, but the company recently renewed the Skate trademark. This also isn't the first time that the Pro Skater series has been rumored for a remake. Both Pro Skater 1 and 2 were rumored for remakes last November. There are also new skateboarding IPs that have been announced, like the game Skater XL which comes to consoles later this year.

Game Rant reports new leaks are suggesting Activision is working on remakes of several of their popular IPs. None of the games on the list have been announced or confirmed by the company at this time. However, the source, The Gaming Revolution, has previously leaked information concerning Call of Duty: Warzone that proved to be true.

The most surprising announcement would be that Activision is working on the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series. Given the series' previous failures, many would assume the company has given up on the franchise. The other games on the list include Call of Duty 2020, Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, and Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex Remastered. While these games have not been officially confirmed, each one has had its own share of leaks and rumors regarding remakes for some time now.

It is not much of a surprise Activision is working on other Call of Duty remasters considering the success of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. A remastered Crash Bandicoot makes sense as well after how well the other Crash Bandicoot remasters have performed. Tony Hawk Pro Skater is still by far the most surprising title, but also the most exciting. There has been a huge void left in the video game industry since Tony Hawk Pro Skater and Skate departed. Hopefully, by remastering Pro Skater 1 and 2, Activision can bring back the sorely missed skateboarding genre.
