Dead by Daylight released its eighth Tome, Deliverance, on July 28, giving fans new backstories, memories, logs, cinematics, Bloodpoints, and charms to unlock. Tome 8 revolves around the Survivor Jake Park, the Killer Jeffrey Hawk, a.k.a. The Clown, and the Observer. As players progress through Tome 8 by finishing challenges, they will gain access to new cosmetics, rift fragments toward the Dead By Daylight Rift Pass, Bloodpoints, and backstory components for the Clown. Licensed Killers like the upcoming Pinhead Cenobite from Hellraiser may be more recognizable, but the Clown is a unique and iconic part of Dead by Daylight trials.

The eighth Dead by Daylight Tome can be unlocked by finishing the epilogue of the previous Tome. Each Tome contains a web of challenges, called the Auris Web, that players complete to unlock the Level Completion Rewards. The Level Completion rewards contain unique cosmetics and Rift Fragments. Ten Rift Fragments are needed to progress through one tier of the Rift Pass. At each tier, players can unlock more unique cosmetics.

The challenges in Dead by Daylight’s eighth Tome do not have to be completed in any specific order to reach the epilogue. Players can complete various challenges involving killers and survivors to finish the Tome. Challenges range from passive activities like earning end-of-match Emblems of varying quality and earning Bloodpoints, to more active activities like communing with glyphs. Each challenge awards players various quantities of Bloodpoints and Rift Fragments. Master Challenges must be completed within a single trial. When players complete Master Challenges, they also unlock journal entries to learn more about Jeffrey Hawk, the killer Clown.

Completing Challenges And Unlocking Rewards In Dead By Daylight Tome 8: Deliverance

Each Tome in Dead By Daylight has four different levels that are unlocked over time. Players start with Level One during the first week and gradually gain access to the rest of the levels. This gives players ample time to complete the challenges before the next Tome is released. Currently, three levels of Tome VIII: Deliverance have been released, with one more level slated for release in mid-September. Players will unlock a cosmetic belt/hook charm and increasing numbers of Rift Fragments with the completion of each Level's epilogue. The rewards include:

  • Level 1: Forgotten Horror Charm and 10 Rift Fragments
  • Level 2: Emerging Horror Charm and 15 Rift Fragments
  • Level 3: Living Horror Charm and 20 Rift Fragments

Tome VIII also features a new type of Glyph Challenge for players to complete during trials. Survivors can find and interact with yellow floating Glyphs hidden within the map. Once players interact with a yellow Glyph, a series of skill checks activates. Players must complete each skill check successfully to complete the Glyph Challenge. However, if players fail a skill check, the Glyph will disappear and teleport to a new location on the map. Whichever path players take through the Auris Web, the rewards for completing challenges are very much worth the effort.
