MCU Spider-Man Movies After No Way Home (TBD)

Rumors For The Fourth Spider-Man Movie Include Venom, Daredevil And Miles Morales

The new Tom Holland movie fans are obviously most curious about is his return as Spider-Man. Almost immediately following the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, speculation began about Holland's Spider-Man 4. Sony producer Amy Pascal shared in an interview (via Fandango) that, despite feeling like a bittersweet end of an era, No Way Home wasn't the last Spider-Man film Sony would make with Marvel:

"We're thinking of this as three films, and now we're going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies."

Spider-Man has had a somewhat confusing ownership history since the rights to the character have been held by Sony since 1998, but more recent agreements with Marvel have allowed him to appear in the MCU. This also allows for the possibility of introducing Holland's Spider-Man to characters like Venom, Morbius, and even Miles Morales. This is great news for many, as the Spider-Man projects are the most highly anticipated of Tom Holland's new movies.

More recent rumors have suggested that Spider-Man 4 might include some of the MCU Netflix characters with the possibility of Spider-Man teaming up with Daredevil or facing off with Kingpin. However, the excitement about Spider-Man 4 has been somewhat tempered by Holland's most recent update in November 2023 when he suggested it wasn't guaranteed he would return as he remains "protective" of the character's legacy which he doesn't want to be tarnished by an unnecessary sequel (via Collider).

Spider-Man would tie with Thor as the only two MCU heroes to reach 4 solo movies.

Untitled Fred Astaire Biopic (TBD)

Holland Could Show Off His Dancing Skills Playing A Hollywood Legend

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dancing

It was confirmed (via Twitter) that one of the new Tom Holland movies on the horizon is a Fred Astaire biopic for Sony. Astaire was a wildly talented American performer whose skills ranged from acting to singing, choreography, and dancing. He is often considered one of the greatest dancers in film history.

It is certainly an exciting role for Holland, taking on a Hollywood legend and showing off his dancing skills in a big way. The movie is in pre-production with only Tom Holland attached to the project so far, so it will be several years yet before this film is completed. Holland gave an update on the project in November 2023 in which he expressed uncertainty yet hope that the biopic would happen, saying (via Collider).

The movie is being developed. Scripts are being written. Meetings are being had. Like anything in the film industry, whether it happens or not is another thing, but we are working towards it as if it is happening. Hopefully, we can find a way to tell the story in the way it needs to be told. I’d love to put my tap shoes on again and to portray that character, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Beneath a Scarlet Sky (TBD)

Holland Was Announced To Star In The World War II True Story

In what could be the most intense upcoming Tom Holland movie, Beneath a Scarlet Sky will put the actor at the center of the real story of Pino Lella, an Italian teenager in World War II. Based on the historical 2017 novel of the same name by author Mark Sullivan, Beneath a Scarlet Sky is a Pascal Pictures production, reuniting Holland with Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal.

In Beneath a Scarlet Sky, Pino, whose country has been taken over by the fascist Mussolini and his Nazi allies, joins the underground movement to help Jews escape to Switzerland, but is later enlisted into the German army by his parents. When Pino gets injured, he is assigned to a post that puts him at a significant advantage as a member of the Italian resistance – serving as Adolf Hitler's personal driver.

Uncharted 2: Will It Happen?

Does Holland Have A Second Franchise On His Hands?

Custom image of Uncharted and Tom Holland

One of the big new Tom Holland movies could be Uncharted 2. The release of Uncharted was fraught with difficulty, and there were significant changes when it came down to directors, storylines, and actors. Eventually, the dust settled, and audiences were greeted with the release of the Uncharted movie in February 2022.

Though many compared Uncharted unfavorably to the video games, it was a hit at the box office and proved that Holland could headline other blockbusters without Spider-Man involved. However, it remains to be seen if there is enough interest to turn Uncharted into a franchise. The various post-credit scenes of the movie certainly implied there were plans to continue the story though there has been no real movement since the first movie's release two years ago.

However, the most recent update for Uncharted 2 was a positive one with producer Charles Roven reiterated in August 2023 that they do plan to make a sequel.

Will Tom Holland Have A Spider-Verse Cameo?

Beyond The Spider-Verse Could Bring Holland Into The Mix

While there is not a lot of information about Holland's Spider-Man 4, that might not be Holland's next Spider-Man movie following No Way Home. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was another Spider-Man movie that explored the multiverse and, in doing so, made every other iteration of Spider-Man canon, from the video games to the comics to the live-action movies. This was further confirmed with the movie showing clips from the Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland Spider-Man movies as part of the overall universe.

While none of the three live-action Spider-Man actors actually took part in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the trilogy is set to come to an end with the upcoming Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Given the acclaim of these movies and the Easter eggs they have managed to pull off, it is not outside the realm of possibility that Holland could appear in a small cameo, be it a voice role or perhaps seeing Miles Morales stumble into the MCU Spider-Man universe.
