In response to Spider-Man: No Way Home tickets going on sale, Tom Holland posts a funny meme involving Tobey Maguire's iteration of the character. In just two weeks, Holland's web-slinger will return to the big screen in what could be his biggest adventure yet. Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: No Way Home picks up right where the previous movie left off: With Peter Parker's identity being revealed to the world as he was framed for Mysterio's death. Peter soon turns to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for a spell that can reverse what happened, but when it goes horribly awry, the multiverse is split wide open.

It's Spider-Man: No Way Home's multiverse aspect that has partially contributed to the larger-than-life excitement that surrounds the movie. The concept allows for characters from past Spider-Man franchises to appear in the MCU; Alfred Molina's Doc Ock has been a central figure in Sony's marketing campaign, and Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe) and Electro (Jamie Foxx) have put in several appearances as well. This also means Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield could turn up in Spider-Man: No Way Home, though Marvel and Sony have been careful not to reveal anything on that front.

Earlier this week, tickets for Spider-Man: No Way Home went on sale. That alone elicited plenty of excitement from fans, but Holland's recent post referencing it might add to the fervor. On Wednesday, Holland posted a meme involving Maguire on his Instagram Story. It shows Maguire from his first Spider-Man movie in the scene where Peter enters a wrestling tournament after gaining his powers, thus joking about fans turning up to movie theaters in costume to buy their tickets. You can see the meme in its full glory down below.

The post is a funny joke about how excited fans are to see Spider-Man: No Way Home, but the fact that it includes Maguire is also bound to pique some interest. Garfield has been the one fielding the most press attention over his potential Spider-Man: No Way Home role, but fans are just as eager to see Maguire step back into the Spidey suit. Though Holland's post is hardly confirmation that Maguire will appear, it's still intriguing to see he went with that meme in particular.

Spider-Man: No Way Home has the potential to be not just the biggest movie of 2021, but also the biggest one of the entire pandemic era. Within the first 24 hours of tickets being available, Spider-Man: No Way Home's presales were the highest since Avengers: Endgame back in 2019. As the movie gets even closer, excitement will likely only increase. For those who have missed big event movies in the midst of the pandemic, this just might be the film they've been waiting for.
