Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland has revealed that he isn't even sure if he wants to be an actor. Holland is gearing up for the release of his third standalone appearance as Peter Parker in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is set for release next week. The highly-anticipated MCU threequel will see Holland's Spider-Man come face to face with a number of iconic villains from across the multiverse. Given the level of hype that surrounds the upcoming feature, it looks set to become one of the most ambitious Marvel films since 2019's Avengers: Endgame.

Holland's career started on London's West End stage, where he played the titular character in Billy Elliott: The Musical, but his first big break came when he starred in The Impossible alongside Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts in 2012. Just three years later, the announcement was made that Holland would officially join the MCU as Spider-Man, going on to make his first appearance in Captain America: Civil War in 2016. Since then, Holland has had an incredibly impressive career trajectory, with the actor now set to star as the beloved video game character, Nathan Drake in the upcoming movie adaptation of Uncharted, but not before audiences get to see the actor's sixth MCU appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Now, Holland has revealed that he's not even sure if acting is something he wants to continue long term. During his promotional rounds for the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home, the 25-year-old spoke to Sky News and shared that he doesn't know what the future holds for him with regards to his acting career. Citing his age and how long he has been in the industry, the actor joked that he is having somewhat of a "pre-midlife crisis," stating that he would definitely like to "go and do other things." Check out Holland's full quote below.

"I don't even know if I want to be an actor, I started acting when I was 11 and I haven't done anything else, so I'd like to go and do other things. Genuinely, I'm sort of... having a midlife crisis - at 25, I'm having like a pre-midlife crisis."

It was recently announced that the Spider-Man star will play Fred Astaire in an upcoming biopic about the late dancer and actor's life. With the role set to take Holland back to his dancing roots, he cited his previous training and shared that he's incredibly excited to get his tap-shoes back on for the role. Fans also recently learned that Holland is set to return for three more Spider-Man films in the MCU post-Spider-Man: No Way Home, so it's definitely fair to assume that Holland won't be making any major career changes anytime soon — despite his remarks to the contrary.

Holland has demonstrated an immense passion for each of the projects that he has been involved with time and time again. And with many of his co-stars having spoken incredibly highly of their time working with him in the past, it's clear to see that Holland is deeply grateful for the opportunities that he's received.  The actor previously mentioned that he had "flirted with the idea" of doing stand-up comedy, so who knows what audiences will see from the star long-term. It will certainly be interesting to see what sort of career moves Holland could make next, and he would likely have his pick of any role given his huge star power. For now, however, fans can still catch him as Marvel's web-slinger in Spider-Man: No Way Home when it releases next week.
