Tom Holland would love to guest star on HBO’s Euphoria alongside his Spider-Man co-star, Jacob Batalon. Another co-star from the superhero series, Zendaya, already stars in Euphoria as Rue Bennett. The role scored her a Primetime Emmy win for best actress in a drama series last year. The acting trio has appeared on screen together in films such as Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far from Home. All three are signed on to the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home as well. However, Euphoria could not be more different from the web-slinger movies.

Euphoria explores the aspects of high school life not often portrayed in film or television. The dark teen series shocked critics and audiences alike during its debut, depicting sex, drugs and trauma. In addition to Zendaya’s Emmy for her memorable performance, the show has also won Emmys for outstanding contemporary makeup and outstanding original music and lyrics. Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow and Eric Dane are some of the cast members accompanying Zendaya. Euphoria’s first season premiered in 2019 and consists of eight episodes. There have also been two hour-long specials released in December of 2020 and January of 2021. Additionally, the series has been picked up for a second season, which presents the perfect opportunity for Holland and Batalon to guest star.

Collider’s Steve Weintraub got the chance to interview Holland, who is currently promoting his new film, Cherry. The journalist asked him about which television series he would love to appear on in a guest role. Holland’s full response can be read below:

“What TV series we would love to guest star on? We were joking about this the other day. I'd love to be in Euphoria, but with Jacob Batalon. I'd love for us to just be in the background of one of Zendaya’s scenes, just because they're two of my best friends and I would love to do anything with them, but also I love that show so it'd be nice to be a part of that.”

Rue and Jules press their foreheads together in Euphoria

Holland, Batalon and Zendaya are currently filming Spider-Man: No Way Home. Additionally, Euphoria’s creator and showrunner, Sam Levinson, revealed back in January he plans to begin filming the show’s season 2 by the end of March. That suggests there could potentially be some overlap in the filming of the two projects. It would definitely be much easier for Holland and Batalon to make cameos in Zendaya’s show if they all travel together from the set of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Holland and Batalon’s appearance alongside Zendaya in Euphoria would certainly add some comic relief to the usually heavy show. Even if they appear in a serious scene, fans familiar with their work in Spider-Man wouldn’t be able to hold back smiles. That doesn’t mean that Holland and Batalon aren’t capable of dark and deeply emotional performances. Holland proved his capability through his work in Cherry, in which he played an Army medic who develops PTSD and a drug addiction. Batalon is yet to have a role like Cherry, but perhaps a guest spot on Euphoria would give him the opportunity to explore a different side of his craft.

Whether or not Holland and Batalon join Zendaya in Euphoria, Holland’s desire for it to happen is good news for fans of Spider-Man because it indicates that the friendship between the three actors is still intact. Friendship among actors typically translates to chemistry on screen, which typically translates to strong performances. Holland himself is also clearly optimistic about the upcoming third installment, highlighting the opportunity to work with Batalon and Zendaya again among what he's most excited about.
