As reported by CBS News Pittsburgh, Hanks took time away from the production of A Man Called Otto to officiate the wedding of a young local couple. Since Hanks is an ordained minister, Pittsburgh residents Tyson and Krisna reached out to the actor by letter while he was in the area to explain they'd love to have him marry them, believing it wouldn't hurt to ask. To their surprise, Hanks accepted the honor. The actor officiated the wedding in the couple's home and the couple stated Hanks helped enrich their life, praising his manners and comfortable nature, calling him a "great guy."

As Hanks is set to play puppet-maker Geppetto in Disney+'s live-action adaptation of the classic 1940 animated film Pinocchio - reuniting with Zemeckis once more alongside Cynthia Erivo, Luke Evans, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt - the actor continues to keep himself busy. Hanks will also star in Asteroid City, Wes Anderson's next film, which will see Hanks collaborating with the director for the first time. On top of that, Hanks will star in Baz Luhrmann's Elvis, which follows the singer and actor Elvis Presley, portrayed by Austin Butler. Hanks will play Colonel Tom Parker, Presley's manager, in a performance that Luhrmann states "shows a new side to the actor" unlike any of his prior roles.

A cultural icon of American cinema, Hanks' appeal extends beyond his on-screen performance. The actor has received numerous honors on the global stage, as well as used his position for activism and charity work, earning the admiration of many across the world. Despite his fame and acclaim, it is heartwarming to see Tom Hanks step away from his busy schedule on A Man Called Otto to respond to a fan's call and help make one of the most special days of their lives come true.
