Tom Hanks has provided a health update for himself and his wife Rita Wilson following their release from the hospital after they both tested positive for the coronavirus. Hanks and Wilson tested positive for the virus just a couple weeks ago after beginning production on the upcoming Elvis Presley biopic in Australia.

On Twitter, Hanks posted an official update on Wilson's and his own condition after they had both been in isolation for the past two weeks. In his post, he reveals that they are both in far better condition, their symptoms slowly dissipating as they continue to stay positive as they fight off what's left of the virus. They will continue to distance themselves from the public, ensuring they do not pass the virus onto anyone else as they remain in isolation. He also urges his fans to continue practicing social distancing to prevent themselves or anyone else from contracting the virus. He firmly believes that if the world works together to combat this virus and make some tough sacrifices, this crisis can be beaten and overcome. See his update below.

Hanks and Wilson are not the only Hollywood figures to have tested positive for the virus. Well known celebrities such as Idris Elba, Andy Cohen, Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Dae Kim and even disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein have all tested positive. Hanks will next be seen in Greyhound, a WWII thriller that will finally have its debut this summer following some delays. That is, of course, if the film retains its June release date. Hopefully it does and Hanks will be well enough to help promote the film.
