Tobey Maguire is rumored to be reprising his iconic role of Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home — but how old would his character be upon his return? While the multiverse works in mysterious ways (and the five-year "Blip" period complicates things) there are a few possibilities. With both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield getting further from the titular character's age in their movies, it's likely the duo will be returning as more mature Peter Parkers. To guess their respective ages should they return, it'll take a little bit of math.

It has been almost 20 years since the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy premiered. After a lengthy time in development, the first film was released in 2002. The original movie brought Spider-Man back to the silver screen, becoming the first movie to make over $100M in its opening weekend. The Sam Raimi trilogy was followed by the Marc Webb Amazing Spider-Man movies, starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, which weren't as successful but had their admirers. Now, both are rumored to be appearing in No Way Home with Tom Holland's MCU version of the webslinger.

At the beginning of Raimi's Spider-Man, Peter Parker's age was around 17 years old. The high school senior ages throughout the movie, hitting 18 years old by the end of the first movie. With the film taking place in 2001 and 2002, Peter's birth date must be some time in 1984. No Way Home likely takes place in 2024, shortly after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home. If Maguire's Peter Parker has aged linearly, his character should be around 40, slightly younger than Maguire's own age of 46.

Of course, the Snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War and the existence of the Multiverse complicates the timeline some. Each version of Peter would be coming from their own universe in the Multiverse, and it is currently undetermined if the events of Infinity War happened in each respective universe — if the Thanos Snap happened in Maguire's multiverse neighborhood and his version of Peter Parker was also snapped, he would have lost five years in the way Tom Holland's Peter Parker did, making him around 35 years old.

It's also worth noting that it's unclear if the other Spider-Men will be joining the MCU from the same, current time periods. Still, at 35 to 40 years old, Maguire's Peter Parker would likely be the most mature of the trio. Garfield's Peter was 17 in Amazing Spider-Man — if the movie took place in 2012, the year it was released, Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man would be 29 in No Way Home, 24 if he were a victim of the Snap. Holland's Peter Parker was the youngest of the trio at only 15 years old in his MCU debut. Having been Snapped, Holland's Peter is still only 16 instead of the 21-year-old he should be. Each actor would represent Peter Parker at a different time in his life — something that could carry strong meaning as Peter grapples with his identity in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
