Netflix released To All The Boys, P.S. I Still Love You right on time for Valentine’s Day, but when can users expect To All The Boys 3 to drop? Jenny Han’s trilogy of teen romance novels made the jump to the world of streaming thanks to Netflix in 2018. The first film, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, introduced viewers all around the world to Lara Jean Covey (Lana Condor) and Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo), who begin fake dating after Lara’s love letters are exposed, among those one addressed to Peter.

The film was such a hit with critics and viewers that Netflix quickly announced that two sequels were in development. The following chapter, To All The Boys, P.S. I Still Love You, continues Lara and Peter’s story now as a formal couple, but the arrival of another recipient of Lara’s letters, John Ambrose (Jordan Fisher), gives their relationship a twist. The film was not as well received as the first one, with critics finding it slower, but it has generally gotten positive reviews so far.

Now, it’s only a matter of waiting for Netflix to announce when the third and final installment in the series will arrive. To All The Boys 3 is based on the novel Always and Forever, Lara Jean, and began filming in July 2019, shortly after production on the second film wrapped – so, could it be released later this year?

When Will To All The Boys 3 Be Released?

To All The Boys 2 3 Always and Forever Lara Jean

The first film followed Lara and Peter during their junior year in high school, with the second film picking up right after the events in the previous story. To All The Boys: Always and Forever, Lara Jean will see the young couple in their senior year, where they will take some very important decisions about their futures, not only individually but also as a couple. Although the story takes place during the summer, and the previous films have been released according to the time of the year they are set in, it’s unlikely that it will arrive in the summer of 2020, as it’s still too close to the second film.

What is possible, however, is that Netflix is keeping To All The Boys 3 for December, making it its big winter/Christmas release – after all, production has already wrapped, so there surely won’t be a big gap as the one between the first two films. On the other hand, Netflix might want to repeat its Valentine’s Day strategy and release the third To All The Boys film in February 2021, allowing viewers to marathon the complete trilogy on that particular day. It’s unlikely it will take more than a year for Netflix to release To All The Boys 3, so it’s only a matter of waiting for the streaming giant to set an official date.
