In TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, Rat King is one of the bosses that the half-shell heroes and their allies must beat. The pied piper is a classic character in the TMNT franchise, though his origin story remains vague depending on which iteration of Rat King is being used. Additionally, the villain has also seen instances where he plays the role of an anti-hero or ally of the Ninja Turtles. Nonetheless, Rat King is one of the many bosses that must be stopped in TMNT: Shredder's Revenge before Shredder himself can be defeated.

The Rat King boss fight takes place at the end of Episode 5, "King of the Spill." As the TMNT and other playable characters in Shredder's Revenge continue their journey through the sewers of New York City, the half-shell heroes and their allies can take on optional challenges beneath the streets as well. Specifically, there are three additional challenges that can be completed during "King of the Spill." The first challenge is to defeat two enemies by using traps. The second challenge requires the TMNT to defeat three robots by using Heavy Swings. Lastly, the final challenge tasks players with completing the level without getting hurt more than three times from obstacles.

Additionally, there are also three secrets for the Ninja Turtles and company to discover throughout Episode 5. "King of the Spill" includes a Secret Diary, a Disgusting Bug, and Genghis cameo for players to find before they reach the Rat King boss fight in TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. At the beginning of Episode 5, the Secret Diary can be found by hitting the card displays to the right of a subway entrance. The Genghis cameo can be discovered by hitting the sewer value a couple of times to unlock the large vault door. Lastly, smash a crate with the Foot Clan Symbol on it to locate the Disgusting Bug.

How To Defeat Rat King In TMNT Shredder's Revenge

Rat King has three attacks that the Ninja Turtles will have to watch out for. The first is a running grab where the pied piper gets ahold of a character, twirls them around, and launches them in the opposite direction. The next is a swift kick that is difficult to avoid for anyone caught too close to Rat King. The final attack sees Rat King summon a wave of sewer rodents, with a few stragglers that can bite players.

To beat this boss in TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, avoid getting bitten by any of the rats and jump over the wave of rats as well. This will immobilize any character, providing Rat King with the perfect opportunity to grab and throw the Ninja Turtles and their allies. Additionally, jumping out of the way of Rat King's charge will result in the boss running into the wall and falling down. This leaves him vulnerable to a series of attacks, so be sure to take advantage of the opportunity.
