The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle family is about to be reunited, as all six Turtle siblings appear together in a brand-new cover for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #139 from artist and co-creator Kevin Eastman.

The latest installment of the TMNT mega-crossover 'The Armageddon Game', the epic storyline involving longtime Turtle foe the Rat King, is drawing to a close. Venus de Milo's New Form Returns

Eastman’s variant cover is notable in bringing together all the Turtles, including the controversial Venus de Milo. Recently introduced into the IDW TMNT canon, Venus made her debut in the poorly-received live action series Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation as one of the turtles who was exposed to the mutagen ooze in the sewers of New York before she got separated from her four brothers. Summarily forgotten for the next two decades, Venus officially returned in 2022, where her new origin redefined her as a Frankenstein-like creature stitched together by Dr. Jasper Barlow in an attempt to revive the Punk Frog Bonnie. Venus also recently got a glimpse of her future self, and that new redesign is the one appearing on Eastman’s variant, hinting that Venus will be joining up with the rest of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the final stages of The Armageddon Game.

Jennika Fought Hard in the Armageddon Game

The whole concept of adding more Turtles to the TMNT ranks has been around for a while. A proposed fifth brother named Kirby was designed for the fourth movie in the 1990’s movie franchise, but that project was shelved following the disappointing box office returns of the third movie. Venus’ contentious fan reception kept the franchise from introducing any more Turtles to the core team for a good long while, until the introduction of Jennika to the IDW continuity. As the official Fifth Turtle added to the team, Jennika was a former Foot assassin who was transformed into a mutant turtle after a blood transfusion from Leonardo. Unlike the initial reaction to Venus, Jennika was met with much enthusiasm by TMNT fans, becoming popular enough to star in her own spin-off miniseries. She has been essential over the course of The Armageddon Game, using her metal claws to fight the forces of the Rat King.

Now, it looks like all six Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are set to reunite for the epic conclusion to The Armageddon Game, though fans will be most curious to see what role the redesigned Venus plays in the coming months.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #139 is on sale April 26 from IDW Comics.
