Warning: The following contains SPOILERS for Titans' series finale.A number of characters were missing from the Titans series finale. This is not entirely unexpected, given how swiftly the show was canceled shortly after the Titans season 4 premiere and the showrunners might not have had time to rewrite the scripts or bring back most of the actors who had left the series. However, the final episodes of Titans are surprisingly erratic in how they revealed the final fates of some characters but not others.

The final episode of Titans resolves the conflict with game designer turned cult leader Brother Blood and the prophecy that he would bring about the rise of Trigon on Earth. The final moments of the episode showed the individual team members as they moved on to new challenges, ranging from starting college to training with Superman. While this brought about satisfying conclusions for most of the series' established cast, there were many characters who were absent from the Titans finale and whose final fates were left unresolved.

Jason Todd/Red Hood

Curran Walters as Jason Todd aka Red Hood In Titans Season 3

Jason Todd is one of the few heroes whose fate was clearly spelled out before the Titans series finale. The former Robin turned Red Hood made an appearance in the penultimate episode of Titans, "Project Starfire," where he passed on some advice to new Robin Tim Drake. The episode established that Red Hood was still in Gotham City and working with GCPD Commissioner Barbara Gordon to bring down supervillains like Shimmer. This could imply that Red Hood is also freelancing for ARGUS, give Babs' previously established relationship with that group in Titans season 3.

Bruce Wayne/Batman

Titans Batman Bruce Wayne Iain Glen

Bruce Wayne last appeared on-camera in the Titans season 3 finale, where it was implied that he might be retiring as Batman. However, a glance at the Gotham City skyline in Titans season 4, episode 11, "Project Starfire" revealed a lit Bat Signal illuminating the night sky. This seems to suggest that Bruce Wayne is still protecting his city as Batman, since GCPD Commissioner Barbara Gordon would seemingly have no reason to light the signal if she knew Bruce Wayne had given up his vigil, and it is unlikely the city's other heroes (like Red Hood) would respond to it.

Donna Troy

Donna Troy smiling in Titans

Donna Troy last appeared in the Titans season 3 finale, where she was recruited into the government organization ARGUS, which monitors rogue metahumans and helps superheroes to better protect the populace. Presumably Donna is still employed by ARGUS and helping with the effort to clean up Gotham City in the wake of Scarecrow's rampage. However, she may also have been deployed to handle more international incidents, given the powers available to her as an Amazon. In either case, Donna did not appear to help fight Brother Blood in Titans' finale.

Dawn Granger/Dove

Dove in Titans weilding a weapon and looking badass.

The second hero to use the codename Dove, Dawn Granger became a vigilante after helping her boyfriend, Hank "Hawk" Hall, take out the same criminal who hurt him as a child. Dawn and Hank had a complicated, on-again, off-again romance, but the two continued to fight crime together until Hank's death at the hands of the Red Hood. Dawn last appeared in Titans season 3, episode 4, "Blackfire," where she told Dick Grayson that she was going to figure out "what the world looks like without Dove" and move to France. Presumably she is still there, happily retired from heroics.

Cyborg, Cliff, Rita and Larry from Doom Patrol

Doom Patrol Cast DC Universe

The Doom Patrol were originally introduced as Beast Boy's foster family in Titans season 1. Most of them had a cameo appearance in Titans season 4, episode 10, "Game Over," where Cliff "Robotman" Steele and Larry "Negative Man" Trainor were revealed to be trapped in the same pocket dimension as Beast Boy and Starfire. Also trapped with them was Victor "Cyborg" Stone, whose famous friendship with Beast Boy from the comics was established in the same episode. Presumably Cliff, Larry and Vic were able to return to Doom Manor at the same time Beast Boy and Starfire escaped the pocket dimension, but this was never confirmed.

Jinx

Lisa Ambalavanar as Jinx in Titans

A former lover of Dick Grayson, Jinx was a con-artist and conjurer who was recruited to act as the Titans' magic expert after Raven lost her powers early in Titans season 4. Jinx died while fighting Mother Mayhem, but it was hoped that she might find some way to cheat death after Raven freed her soul from the Temple of Azarath, and that she might join the final battle against Brother Blood. Unfortunately, her last appearance came in Titans season 4, episode 9, "Dude, Where's My Gar?" where she spoke to Beast Boy while he was in The Red and Jinx confirmed she was dead.

Barbara Gordon

Barbara-Gordon-Introduced-In-Titans-Season-3-Trailer

The former Batgirl and Oracle, Barbara Gordon followed her father, Jim, in becoming the Commissioner of Gotham City's police department. Despite working with the Titans during Titans season 3, Barbara elected to remain in Gotham rather than join the team and focus on rebuilding the city after the battle with Scarecrow. While she did not appear in Titans season 4, Jason Todd talked with Babs on the phone in Titans season 4, episode 11, "Project Starfire," confirming that she was still running the GCPD.

Rose Wilson/Ravager

Chelsea Zhang as Rose Wilson in Titans Season 2

The daughter of Slade "Deathstroke" Wilson, Rose Wilson acted as her father's mole on the team in Titans season 2. She ultimately turned on Slade, helping Nightwing to defeat him once and for all in Titans' season 2 finale. Rose mysteriously disappeared from the show between Titans season 2 and Titans season 3, despite having been depicted as having joined the team in Titans' season 2 finale. No explanation was ever given for her absence or sudden disappearance, inspiring one theory that Rose was erased from reality by the Crisis on Infinite Earths event, which also took place between Titans season 2 and Titans season 3.

Jericho

Joey AKA Jericho In Titans Hufflepuff

The son of Slade "Deathstroke" Wilson, Jericho was seemingly killed by his father after Nightwing tried to recruit him to the Titans following Deathstroke's murder of Aqualad. In truth Jericho, who had the power to project his mind into other peoples' bodies, sent himself into his father's body as his body died. Jericho later placed himself inside his half-sister Rose's body, after she and Nightwing killed Deathstroke. What became of Jericho after Titans season 2 finale is as big a mystery as what happened to Rose Wilson, as neither one of them were ever mentioned again after the Titans season 2 finale.

Titans season 4 is now available for streaming on HBO Max.
