Netflix's You star James Scully has joined the cast of Titans season 4 in a mystery role for the HBO Max drama, which will premiere later this year. Since moving from DC Universe to HBO Max, Titans is currently one of the platform's most popular DC shows, with season 4 currently on its way. Based on the Teen Titans property, Titans is a gritty reimagination that follows Dick Grayson's (Brenton Thwaites) life after living as Robin for years, before becoming Nightwing and leading his own team of young heroes.

In Titans season 3, the team relocated to Gotham City as one of their former allies Jason Todd, now operating as Red Hood, became one of the show's latest Big Bads. As it turned out to be Scarecrow that was pulling the strings the whole time, the Titans took on one of Batman's biggest enemies. For Titans season 4, the heroes are leaving Gotham City as they embark on their latest adventure, which will include new villains and potentially new allies. While not officially confirmed yet, the reported Titans season 4 release date is this fall, specifically October. If confirmed, this would mean there are less than four months to go before the new Titans installment debuts.

With Titans season 4 getting closer to the end of its production, more details are starting to emerge about the HBO Max drama's return. Variety is reporting that James Scully, whose past credits includes Netflix's YouFire Island, and City of Ghosts, is joining the cast of Titans season 4. Details are currently being kept under wraps in regards to who Scully is playing, and whether or not he is a series regular or a recurring guest star.

Given that Scully's role is being kept shrouded in secrecy, it wouldn't be shocking if he is playing a major character from the DC Universe. Scully is one of the latest actors to join Titans season 4, which includes the previously announced casting of Joseph Morgan as Brother Blood, a.k.a. Sebastian Sanger, who will be a series regular. Another new main cast member is Franka Potente, who was previously tapped as the DC villainess May Bennett, a.k.a. Mother Mayhem. Lastly, Lisa Ambalavanar is set to recur as Jinx, who is another member of the Fearsome Five.

While time will tell who Scully is actually portraying on Titans, there are a few candidates to keep in mind. Titans season 2 and 3 seasons have been name-dropping Roy Harper, and perhaps Scully is coming into Titans season 4 as Arsenal after all this teasing. While it's only a rumor, perhaps Scully will be playing a character related to whatever Metropolis-based storyline Titans has coming, as there have been teases that Titans season 4 is revisiting Superman's city. Should Titans season 4 truly be arriving in the fall, it won't be long until it's revealed who Scully is ultimately playing on the show.
