Titans season 4 will feature a long-awaited romance, according to Starfire actor Anna Diop. DC's HBO Max drama series wrapped season 3 in October last year. Though production for Titans season 4 started in February, there is still no premiere date set for the latest season. Season 3's finale ended with most of the Titans leaving Gotham in an RV after a successful battle with Scarecrow, with plans to travel cross-country. Details recently emerged revealing that the Titans will be spending some time in Blüdhaven, where Nightwing starts his vigilante career in the comics.
Starring Diop as Kory/Starfire, Brenton Thwaites as Robin/Dick/Nightwing, Teagan Croft as Raven, and Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, Titans follows the young hero team, primarily centering on Nightwing. In season 1, he was romantically linked to Starfire, following a long history of romance between the two characters in the comics. However, seasons 2 and 3 seemingly moved away from the Dick/Kory relationship, seeing Nightwing revisit a romance with Barbara Gordon (Savannah Welch), which ended in the season 3 finale. Images released from season 4 seemed to imply that Starfire and Nightwing may rekindle their spark, something that fans have been eagerly anticipating.
In Screen Rant's exclusive interview with Diop about Toronto International Film Festival selection Nanny, which is set for release on November 23, she teased details about Titans season 4. Diop's comment that she hopes she'll "finally stop getting DMs" about the romance teased seemingly confirms that she's referring to Starfire and Nightwing. Due to the popularity of their romance in the comics, fans have been waiting for the day that Titans returns to and delivers on the season 1 promise of their official relationship. Since Nightwing and Barbara are no longer together, the door is open for the iconic Dick/Kory pairing to explore their feelings for one another in earnest after plenty of hints. If the couple does confess feelings for one another, hopefully, Titans season 4 will offer a satisfying journey to the two becoming an official couple, so that HBO Max's Titans can delve into some of their joint storylines from the comics.
All the details that have emerged indicate that Titans season 4 will be an exciting new chapter for the titular team, including iconic villains such as Lex Luthor and Brother Blood and visits to Blüdhaven and Metropolis. After the vision Nightwing had in his limbo state of a little girl calling him "daddy," the further hints of a Dick/Kory relationship offer the potential of a future for the couple, possibly including their daughter in the comics, Nightstar. Titans season 4 is set for a late 2022 release, so hopefully it will soon be available on HBO Max.
