Warning: The following contains SPOILERS for Titans season 4, episode 9, "Dude, Where's My Gar?"Multiple heroes and villains from DC Comics' TV shows and movies make cameos in Titans season 4 as Beast Boy travels the multiverse. The question of Beast Boy's whereabouts hung over the Titans season 4 mid-season premiere, as Gar Logan was curiously absent when the Titans emerged from a death realm after escaping the clutches of Mother Mayhem and Brother Blood. The team recalled hearing Gar's voice guiding them back to reality but had no clue what had happened to him.

Titans season 4, episode 9, "Dude, Where's My Gar?" revealed Beast Boy's fate after he attempted to enter the mystic realm called The Red, which ties all animal life together. With the guidance of the hero Freedom Beast, who also taps into The Red as part of his powers, Beast Boy learns the truth about his origins and just how powerful he truly is. Beyond transforming into animals, Beast Boy can use the Red to travel in time and between worlds. This leads to a lengthy sequence in which Beast Boy travels between realities and 13 massive cameos from across the DC Comics Multiverse.

12 The Flash of Earth-Prime

Grant Gustin The Flash in Titans Season 4

Upon emerging into the space between worlds, Beast Boy hears Freedom Beast's voice, informing him that The Red "connects and pervades all animal life, in this universe and many others." Immediately afterward, Beast Boy is almost knocked off his feet by a streak of yellow lightning that moves past him several times. The lightning forms into a portal, which shows a red-clad figure in yellow boots running almost faster than Beast Boy can perceive. Arrowverse fans will instantly recognize the fast figure as the Barry Allen of Earth-Prime (Grant Gustin), who apparently passed through The Red while running between realities himself.

11 Stargirl

Titans Season 4 Brec Bassinger Stargirl Courtney Whitmore and Beast Boy

The Flash briefly knocks Beast Boy into another world, where his arrival does not go unnoticed. Beast Boy is approached by a stunned Stargirl (Brec Bassinger), who informs him that he is in Blue Valley, Nebraska when he asks where he is. It is implied, but not outright stated, that Beast Boy has traveled to the Earth-2 setting of Stargirl, confirming a long rumored crossover between Stargirl and Titans. The two heroes chat briefly about the importance of family before Beast Boy sends himself back into The Red to search for the Titans.

10 Swamp Thing

Titans Season 4 Swamp Thing Derek Mears

Once he is back in The Red, a number of portals open up before Beast Boy, showing him several other worlds. The first portal shows a dour green figure with red eyes sitting in a rainy marsh. This is the Swamp Thing of Earth-19, played by Derek Mears in the short-lived Swamp Thing television series, which ran for one season in 2019 on the DC Universe streaming service.

9 DCEU Shazam

Titans Season 4 DCEU Shazam Cameo

The next portal shows a city at night and a figure with a glowing lightning bolt on his chest flying toward the portal. However, the portal closes before he can emerge into The Red. While the vision is obscured by darkness, the lighting symbol easily identifies the hero as Zachary Levi's DCEU Shazam, fresh from his starring role in Shazam: Fury of the Gods.

8 Grant Morrison

Grant Morrison in Titans Season 4

The next portal opens upon a library, where a figure with a sketch pad turns around. They seem surprised at first, telling Beast Boy, "I can see you." The figure then smiles and asks Beast Boy, "Can you see me?" While this sharp-dressed character might appear to be a variant Lex Luthor, it is writer Grant Morrison. Morrison has had a prolific career in comics, with lengthy runs on JLA, Batman, and X-Men winning multiple awards.

Morrison's cameo here is notable as they are the creator of The Red, introducing the idea of a mystic force connecting all animal life comparable to The Green from Swamp Thing during their run on Animal Man. They also created the character of Freedom Beast and are notable for breaking the fourth wall in their stories, having written themselves into Animal Man as a character. As a bonus Easter egg, the sketch Morrison is drawing seems to be a rough draft of the Map of the Multiverse from Morrison's story The Multiversity, which developed the modern DC Comics Multiverse.

7 Teen Titans Go! Beast Boy

Teen Titans Go Beast Boy In Titans Season 4

The final portal shows a television set, which is broadcasting an episode of Teen Titans Go! The animated Beast Boy (Greg Cipes) appears briefly, angrily saying, "Waffles, waffles, waffles!" This is a nod to the Teen Titans Go! season 1 episode "Waffles," in which Cyborg and Beast Boy annoy the rest of the Teen Titans with their contest to see who can go the longest only speaking the word "waffles."

6 Kaley Cuoco as Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn holds her arms out on the streets of Gotham in the animated show.

After the portal showing the animated Beast Boy closes, a shrill woman's voice calls out that the party is over. While the woman does not appear on-screen, her voice is recognizable as that of Kaley Cuoco's Harley Quinn from the animated Harley Quinn series.

5 A Pair Of Jokers

Jack Nicholson as Jack Napier Joker in Batman and Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck

Harley's shout is answered by two maniacal laughs, which overlap one another. The first belongs to Arthur Fleck, the unfortunate party clown and aspiring comedian played by Oscar Winner Joaquin Phoenix in Joker. The second belongs to Jack Napier, the hitman turned "fully-functioning homicidal artist," who became the Joker, played by Jack Nicholson in the 1989 Batman movie.

4 Doctor Fate from Smallville

Doctor Fate and Clark Kent in Smallville

The cacophony of mad laughter quickly fades, replaced by a firmer voice. This voice speaks to Beast Boy, telling him that "your fate is utterly binding." The voice belongs to the Doctor Fate of Earth-167, who spoke the same words to a young Clark Kent in the Smallville season 9 episode "Absolute Justice."

3 Jonathan Kent from Superman: The Movie

Clark and Jonathan Kent in Superman The Movie

Another voice speaks to the confused Beast Boy. This voice assures him that "one thing I do know, son, and that is you are here for a reason." Superman fans will recognize the voice as the Jonathan Kent of Earth-96, who gave the same advice to a young Clark Kent just before his death in Superman: The Movie.

2 Cesar Romero From The 1966 Batman Show

Cesar Romero laughs as the Joker in Batman

Another laugh breaks through the rush of sound. An unseen figure introduces himself to the people of Gotham City as The Joker. This voice will be instantly recognizable to fans of the 1966 Batman television series (aka Earth-66) as actor Cesar Romero, who played the Clown Prince of Crime in all three seasons and the first Batman movie.

1 Cyborg from Doom Patrol

Jovian Wade Cyborg in Titans Season 4

The final scene of Titans season 4, episode 9, "Dude, Where's My Gar?" finds Beast Boy falling out of The Red and into the living room of a luxurious mansion. Beast Boy passes out just as Cyborg (Jovian Wade) runs into the room. Recognizing Beast Boy, he calls for Cliff and Larry, saying that they have a big problem.

This version of Cyborg appears to be the same Vic Stone from the first three seasons of Doom Patrol. However, Doom Patrol is set on a different Earth than the Earth-9 setting of Titans. Presumably, an explanation for just how this Cyborg knows Beast Boy will be delivered later in the season.

Titans season 4 continues on Thursdays on HBO Max.
