Joseph Morgan, who portrays Brother Blood in Titans season 4, responds if Sebastian Sanger can be redeemed in the HBO Max series. Out of all the villains that the Titans have faced over the last few seasons, their latest one becomes a complex opponent. After having tried to keep their new friend Sebastian safe from the Church of Blood, he ended up giving himself up to the supernatural cult in order to protect the heroes. As Titans season 4, part 1, reached its conclusion, the rise of Brother Blood is happening next year, and it will be easier said than done for the team to take on this new enemy.

Screen Rant recently chatted with Brother Blood himself about the fallout of Titans season 4, part 1, and what Morgan could tease about where Sebastian will go for the rest of the season. One of the questions raised to Morgan was whether or not he believed that Sebastian could still be redeemed. Despite the transformation to Brother Blood, this is still the same character, says Morgan, who stated that there is definitely an opportunity to save Sebastian, but it's all about if he wants to be saved.

Screen Rant: Now, this might be an odd question to ask because I became very invested in Sebastian. So I have to ask, can he be saved, or is he lost? Is there no point of return for Sebastian?

Joseph Morgan: No, no, he can be saved certainly. It's not going to be a different character. When you see the rest of the episodes, he's the same guy. He's got power now, and there's something in him where his destiny is unfolding. It's playing to his ego and the parts of him that felt rejected and disenfranchised all of his life. He's now feeling what it feels like to be someone with power, to be someone with confidence, but it's the same guy. He's going to have that same humanity that we put in throughout [the episodes.] We worked really hard to make sure it wasn't just like, 'Now he's Brother Blood!' He's still Sebastian; he's still this guy. I think there's an opportunity there definitely for him to be saved. It's just whether he wants to be saved.

Everything We Know About Titans Season 4, Part 2

Joseph Morgan As Brother Blood

So far, HBO Max has not disclosed when Titans season 4, part 2, will actually drop, as Doom Patrol season 4, part 1, will be taking their slot starting next week. However, there are a few known factors about what is in store for Titans season 4, part 2. For starters, Brother Blood's presence will obviously be increased now that Sebastian has completed the ritual and gone through with his transformation.

While it hasn't been flat-out said if he will be back, Titans season 4, part 1, is strongly suggesting that Trigon might be making a comeback. According to showrunner Greg Walker, some returning characters will be stopping by in Titans season 4, part 2. When asked what chances were for Red Hood, Wonder Girl, and Dove to show up in some capacity, Walker assured that some of them, but not all, would pop up at some point during the season. The first episode that will air in 2023 is episode 7, titled "Dude, What's My Gar," which was co-written by Beast Boy himself, Ryan Potter.

With Titans season 4, part 1, ending on not one but several cliffhangers, time will tell how the heroes will figure this situation out with Brother Blood. Because of the personal bond they now have with him, it makes the conflict a lot more complicated because this isn't like Deathstroke or Scarecrow where they were naturally on opposite sides. Through the first couple of episodes, Sebastian became a friend to them, thus making it harder to simply take him down compared to other villains. With Mother Mayhem still in tact, she definitely won't make things easier, even if the Titans tries to re-connect with Sebastian, now that he is Brother Blood.
