Warning! Spoilers ahead for Titans season 3 episode 9, "Souls."

HBO's Titans has seemingly changed Wonder Woman's legacy with the Amazons, seeing the Titans' Raven struggling with their strict and bureaucratic nature. Since the season 2 finale, Rachel Roth (played by Teagan Croft) has been living amongst the Amazons of Themyscira, training with them while also attempting to bring Donna Troy back to life. However, Raven is having a hard time grappling with these warrior women who seem even more isolated than the Amazons of the DCEU films, and it's possible that they closed themselves off even further in response to Wonder Woman and Donna's activities in the outside world.

In Titans season 3, episode 9, Raven and the Amazons are conducting a ritual that could bring Donna back to life, though Raven's impatience and desire to use her dark powers result in some tensions with the Amazonians, particularly Lydia who acts as one of Raven's mentors. As a result, a hearing is conducted, featuring the Amazons rigidly passing judgment for Raven's actions. It also showcases just how bureaucratic they are in comparison to the version of the Amazons seen on the big screen in the DCEU's Wonder WomanJustice League, and Wonder Woman 84.

While the Amazons of the DCEU are isolationist as well, it certainly seems as though they're a little looser and more free of expression than Titans' version. Furthermore, the Amazons did join with the races of Atlantis and Man against Darkseid in the past as seen in Justice League, an indication that they have a willingness to leave their island if the threat to the world is great enough. In comparison, it seems as though Wonder Woman and Donna's actions as heroes in the outside world might have motivated Titans' Themyscira to go in the opposite direction, doubling down and becoming even more set in their ways, justifying their non-involvement and appearing to be even more opposed to Wonder Woman's perspectives.

Raven spends time with the Amazons in Titans

That being said, it is somewhat ironic that the Titans' version has featured more Amazons having left the island in the present than those in the DCEU, despite their more bureaucratic and closed-off nature. Not only are there two Amazons acting as heroes, but season 2 saw Donna having an Amazonian contact named Jillian, who had been sent to monitor her activities while running an art gallery. Furthermore, more Amazons left the island to attend Donna's wake to collect her body afterward. As such, it seems as though Titans' writers want to have two different versions of the Amazons at the same time. Then again, it's not as though leaving the island for long durations has worked well for anyone but Wonder Woman herself, seeing as how both Donna and Jillian died in season 2 (thus proving the Amazons' non-involvement).

While the Wonder Woman of the Titans' universe has only been referenced and has yet to be seen on screen, it does look as though her legacy and influence with her fellow Amazons are quite different and much more complex than in the DCEU. It certainly seems as though they might not view her as highly. While the DCEU saw Diana being viewed by Themyscira as their champion and representative in the world of men, that doesn't seem to be Wonder Woman's Amazon legacy as far as Titans is concerned.
