Titans star Joshua Orpin reveals how he got jacked to play Superboy for season 3 of the DC show. The live-action Teen Titans series first began as nascent streaming service DC Universe's biggest original program. However, it will switch to HBO Max for its long-awaited season 3. Titans suffered some production delays last year because of the coronavirus pandemic, but it finally picked up in the fall. Season 3 is expected to premiere in August, and anticipation is steadily rising.

The end of Titans season 2 brought about a development fans had long been waiting for: The proper formation of the titular team. Led by Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites), the Titans will be ready for action when season 3 begins, though there have already been several changes to the group. For one thing, Jason Todd (Curran Walters) ventured off on his own and will become Red Hood. It also remains to be seen if Wonder Girl (Conor Leslie) will be revived following her season 2 death. A far more positive development for Titans' central group is the addition of Conner Kent (Orpin) now that he has broken free from his Cadmus Labs brainwashing.

Orpin has evidently taken his promotion seriously, as revealed in a recent social media post. In a series of photos, Orpin shared his workout journey for Titans season 3. "Season 2 was about #cultivatingmass, this time around we were trying to get me a little leaner and meaner," he wrote. Orpin laid out his 4-step process (which includes working out with co-star Alan Ritchson) and added, "As long as I have the privilege of playing this role, I'll continue to strive toward the 100% unrealistic standard set by my comic book counterpart." In the end, Orpin has cultivated an impressively buff look for the show. You can see his full post down below.

Orpin follows in the steps of several other performers who have strived to emulate a superhero bod for a project, like Dwayne Johnson and Brie Larson. As Superboy, a genetic clone of Superman and Lex Luthor, Orpin certainly had his work cut out for him. Titans season 3 is poised to be an interesting one for Superboy; after spending season 2 as an obstacle for the heroes, he can finally forge his own path forward. Orpin is prepared for whatever lies ahead, so fans have reason to be excited.

Orpin also mentioned in his caption that he's been through 9 months of shooting for Titans season 3. Though it isn't quite clear when filming will be complete, the end is in sight for the show. Titans was supposed to return last year, but the delays caused by the pandemic pushed it back. Luckily, fans can rest assured that the long wait is almost over, and then they will get to see Superboy in all his heroic glory alongside the rest of the team.
