Jason Todd (Curran Walters) will become Red Hood in Titans season 3. Although DC TV show Titans introduced Brenton Thwaites' Dick Grayson as the first Robin, season 1 also introduced his sidekick successor Jason Todd. The two superheroes didn't get along very well, as they had different approaches to life as a vigilante. Their relationships with Batman were also quite varied, which impacted how they viewed their role as superheroes. That dynamic carried over from season 1 to season 2.

And, of course, they both couldn't use the Robin mantle forever; in Titans season 2, Dick ultimately evolved into Nightwing. Though Jason did become a member of the Titans, he had a falling out with Dick and left the group to run off with Rose Wilson (Chelsea Zhang). The Titans season 2 finale ended with Jason officially leaving the superhero team. Many suspected this would set up the storyline in which Jason becomes Red Hood, and now we know that's exactly what will happen next season.

During the show's panel at DC FanDome, executive producer Greg Walker teased what's to come in the upcoming Titans season 3, and he made sure to confirm that Walters' Jason Todd will become Red Hood. According to the character's official logline for season 3, "Jason Todd now dons a new identity in his obsession to take down his old team." Walters celebrated the news in a tweet, sharing his excitement in getting to explore the Red Hood version of Jason Todd in Titans season 3.

It's unclear how exactly Titans will adapt the comic book storyline of Jason becoming Red Hood. In the DC Comics, Jason Todd was killed off in the late 80s Batman storyline "A Death in the Family." The character was then resurrected much later, in 2005, as Red Hood. Though Jason wasn't well liked in his initial run as Robin, his turn as Red Hood in the comics has been much more well received. But with Titans season 2 adapting "A Death in the Family" - in a manner - they won't be able to do the same death-resurrection storyline.

That said, Jason's character development since his fake death in season 2 has undoubtedly sent him down a path toward becoming an anti-hero like Red Hood, one that still wants to help people but doesn't want to stick to the Titans' rules of how to be a superhero. It's clear from the character's logline how Jason's storyline will intertwine with that of the rest of the Titans characters as he aims to take the team down - though whether he'll use deadly force isn't specified. If his story eventually diverges from the rest of the characters, perhaps Walters could be up for a Titans spinoff about Red Hood - but it likely depends on how his fight with the Titans ends. For now, fans can rest assured that Red Hood is coming to Titans in season 3, even if it's unclear when exactly that season may premiere.
