The latest images from Titans season 3 reveals the first look at Starfire's proper superhero costume. The first live-action Teen Titans series first premiered on DC Universe in 2018 and quickly became a success for the young streamer. A second season followed a year later, and though some fans were displeased at how Titans handled its titular team, the series was renewed for a third season. Initially, Titans season 3 was scheduled for this fall, but the coronavirus pandemic pushed back the start of production and delayed the season.
Currently, filming is underway, and fans have been treated to several teases in recent weeks about the upcoming season 3. While much of the buzz surrounding Titans has been centered around Jason Todd's (Curran Walters) transformation into Red Hood, season 3 is shaping up to be a momentous one for Kory Anders, aka Starfire (Anna Diop). Titans executive producer Greg Walker previously teased season 3 as the time when Kory will achieve her true potential as Starfire, and yesterday, a major reveal was teased on social media.
Now, HBO Max and Titans have officially unveiled Starfire's proper superhero costume. The familiar purple style is back, as well as the green opal accents. Titans provided an in-depth look at the latter so fans can pick up on all the little details found within Starfire's new look. While the coloring is certainly similar to Starfire's comic looks, Titan's approach is notably less revealing than past incarnations. This suit has a more modern feel to it, and it compliments Diop exceptionally well. Exactly when this new suit will debut on Titans remains to be seen, but it's probably fair to say that it'll be a triumphant moment for Starfire in season 3. This is the evolution many have been waiting for, and so far, it hasn't disappointed. It'll be thrilling to see Starfire in action while wearing this.
In addition to her Starfire evolution, Kory will have her hands full in Titans season 3 with the arrival of her sister Blackfire (Damaris Lewis). Titans' last season finale concluded with Blackfire arriving on Earth with the intention of tracking down Starfire, and fans know all too well that this reunion won't be going over well. Blackfire's presence in season 3 should provide the perfect opportunity to dig further into Starfire's characterization and past, something fans have been eagerly looking forward to. Not only will Starfire be getting an exciting story, she'll have this epic costume to aid her in battle, and that's a seriously thrilling prospect.
