Titans has added another member of the Deathstroke family to its season 2 cast with Chella Man as Deathstroke's son Joseph Wilson, otherwise known as Jericho. Man joins the DC Universe series alongside Esai Morales, who will be playing his TV father Slade Wilson, who is more commonly known by his mercenary name Deathstroke. Since his comic debut in 1980, Deathstroke has become more of a global villain (or anti-hero) for the DC Universe fighting against many heroes and villains. The character got his start, though, in the pages of The New Teen Titans, the comics on which Titans is based.

Shortly after Deathstroke appeared in the comics, he was followed by his family, specifically his sons. The first of Deathstroke's sons to appear was Grant Wilson. Grant was a minor antagonist for the Titans who was killed off shortly after his appearance. The more famous and prolific son of Deathstroke is Joseph Wilson, mainly because he comes with an interesting twist. Unlike his brother and father, Joseph becomes an ally and member of the Titans, going by the superhero name Jericho.

Deadline reports that Chella Man has been cast in a recurring role in Titans season 2 as Joseph Wilson. Titans will be the actor's first major role. Previously, Man has been known as a model and activist with a significant social media following. Alongside Man's casting, DC Universe provided a character description for Jericho that is very similar to his comic counterpart:

Son of the infamous DC villain Deathstroke (played by Esai Morales), Joseph Wilson is the Titan known as Jericho. Mute after his father failed to rescue him from having his vocal cords severed by assassins, Jericho has the unique ability to possess anyone just by making eye contact. This gentle natured yet proud hero has proven himself a formidable Titan.

Man is a deaf trans man who is both Chinese and Jewish. So while he doesn't look much like the comic book Jericho, who is a blonde haired and blue eyed man, he does share some similarities. One of Jericho's most recognizable traits in the comics is that he's mute and he speaks purely by sign language. Man is not mute but being deaf, he has some practice with sign language. Man also being a member of the LGBTQ community gives him traits in common with Jericho. When Jericho first appeared in the comics, his sexuality was a little ambiguous, but in recent years Joseph Wilson has been shown to be openly gay. It seems likely that Titans will follow suit in their adaptation of the character.

The character description does confirm, though, that Titans' Jericho will retain the powers of his comic counterpart. Jericho is unique in the Wilson family because he's one of the few members who has genuine superpowers. Nearly everyone else is either chemically or genetically enhanced. Jericho has the ability to possess and control other human beings by simply making eye contact with him. This combined with Jericho's natural fighting ability inherited from his father should make for an interesting addition to the Titans team.

Man's casting also confirms a previous listing for Titans season 2 that suggested the series would add more than Deathstroke to the series. In the listing, Joseph Wilson's half-sister and Deathstroke's illegitimate daughter Rose Wilson aka. Ravager was also considered to be a member of Titans season 2. Like Jericho, Ravager has also been an ally of the Titans and now it seems like a guarantee that she'll be cast sooner rather than later.
