Titans star Brenton Thwaites, who plays the DC hero Dick Grayson, a.k.a. Nightwing, gives a funny response to the butt-size obsession from viewers. Titans season 4, part 1, recently finished on HBO Max, as the midseason finale saw the heroes clash with Mother Mayhem. While trying to stop the Church of Blood, Sebastian Sanger gives in to the deadly cult as he goes through with the ritual that will transform him into Brother Blood, the ultimate villain of the season. As Doom Patrol season 4, part 1, has taken Titans' slot, the HBO Max drama won't be back until sometime in 2023.

Thwaites, who has portrayed Dick since Titans season 1, recently chatted with SFX Magazine (via CinemaBlend), where he was asked about one of the fandom's biggest obsessions with Nightwing. Whether it's in the comics or other media projects, Nightwing's butt size has always been a huge topic, including when Thwaites was cast. When asked about it, the Australian Titans star gave a funny response, sharing the following:

I don’t know what to say except I will keep doing some squats! That’s cool. The episodes aren’t about my ass, although it’s not something I would shy away from or be offended by.

Nightwing's Butt Was Already An Obsession In Comics

Nightwing Leader

For those who aren't familiar with the history of Nightwing, Dick's butt has always been one of the more favored aspects of his character. While it has also become a long-running gag about the former Boy Wonder, almost any incarnation of Nightwing in the comics is always drawn by the artist as having a thick butt. Even in the Titans fandom, it has been one of the more discussed topics of the live-action incarnation of the DC hero. While it obviously doesn't define Nightwing as a Titans character, it's still a hilarious topic of discussion.

When Thwaites was tapped as Titans' Nightwing, one of the big Google searches that week was fans looking to try and find photos of how big (or small) his butt was, which became a gag in itself. In earlier seasons, before Dick had even suited up as Nightwing, a lot of Titans fans would always be on the lookout whenever DC Universe (and later on HBO Max) would release promotional images to see if his butt size could be determined whatsoever. Whether or not Titans' Nightwing has the right butt size is obviously up for debate, but Thwaites' response to that question is still a funny one, as this isn't always what a superhero actor would be asked in interviews.

What Is Coming Up In Titan Season 4, Part 2

While HBO Max has not set a premiere date for Titans season 4, part 2, the remaining six episodes will be released in 2023, starting with episode 7, titled "Dude, Where's My Gar?" Ryan Potter, who plays Beast Boy, was part of writing the story for that episode, which was penned by Titans executive producer Geoff Johns. The rest of Titans season 4 will also see the heroes having to deal with Sebastian as Brother Blood, who started out as a friend to the group. The relationship between Starfire and Nightwing will also be further fleshed out, with their romance returning as a focus this season. Titans showrunner Greg Walker has also teased that some returning characters will be popping up in season 4, part 2. Hopefully, HBO Max will reveal sooner rather than later the trailer for Titans season 4, part 2, as well as when in 2023 the show is expected to be back on screen.
