The Titans make for an eclectic group of superheroes. Some grew up as sidekicks to other heroes, while others struck out on their own as teens. Some of them have superpowers, but others just have a lot of training and determination. It's also true that only a handful of the Titans have seemingly unlimited influence over others despite not having special abilities like super strength and flight.

That makes for a pretty varied scale of power among the group. The strongest in terms of abilities isn't the same as the best in terms of influence. Sometimes, those superpowers outweigh the ability to influence others, and vice versa. The most powerful Titans are the heroes who have the intelligence to effectively handle their special abilities and the maturity to lead others into battle.

Updated on November 28th, 2022 by Amanda Bruce: Titans has a fairly large team, though not every team member appears in every season, and many villains that they face off against each season as well. That means the level of power among team members and villains is often changing. When magic is expanded among the group, the level of superpowers changes even further. The level of influence of the non super-powered members of the team also changes as time goes on because some people gain more influence while others lose theirs, making for shifting dynamics in the series. That only continues in season 4 with Tim Drake added to the team and an uneasy alliance formed with Jinx.

Tim Drake

Tim Drake speaks with Bernard in HBO Max's Titans

Physically, Tim Drake isn’t the most powerful character in the show. He doesn’t have any superpowers, but he does have a lot of passion and charm. Much like both Jason Todd and Dick Grayson, Tim Drake’s enthusiasm and commitment to a cause is infectious.

Tim doesn’t just help the Titans around Gotham in season 3; he also helps his parents survive the city under siege, and impresses Dick enough to get an invitation to train and travel with the team. He inspires camaraderie and loyalty among those around him.

Jason Todd (Robin/Red Hood)

Jason stands in front of Batman's trophy case in Titans

Though Jason Todd is resurrected after his death, turning him into a Red Hood who is somewhat different from the comics, he doesn't have any special powers. Instead, his power actually lies in his ability to influence the people around him.

Not only does Jason manage to (with the help of the Scarecrow and his gang) get nearly all of Gotham to turn on the Titans in season 3, but he also makes one of Gotham's most powerful people turn their back on the city. Bruce Wayne abandons the city and his own identity as Batman because of Jason. It's Jason's death that gets Batman to kill the Joker and, more importantly, force the Dark Knight to own up to his past mistakes. That's more than Dick Grayson or Barbara Gordon were able to get him to do.

Jericho

Aqualad and Wonder Girl stand next to Jericho in Titans.

Jericho didn't last long with the Titans. The son of Deathstroke was never really even an official member. He did have one pretty cool power though.

Jericho was able to inhabit the body of anyone he chose, allowing him to control them. The Titans got to see him display that ability when he exerted his control over Hank during his brief time with the team. More than that, however, Jericho might have been the only person to get Deathstroke to briefly consider getting out of his line of work. It's Jericho's death that prompts Deathstroke to attempt revenge on the Titans as well.

Hank Hall (Hawk)

Hank Hall appears angry in Titans

Hank Hall is definitely a more powerful fighter than Tim. He spends a lot of years as a vigilante, and in a ring, so he knows his way around both offensively and defensively. He might not have quite the leadership capabilities of Dick or Kory, but he still inspires confidence in his teammates.

Hank’s power lies in him being willing to do absolutely anything for the people he cares about most. Hank is, more often than not, the one willing to make the sacrifices for the rest of the time, which is part of the reason so many of the younger teammates look up to him.

Dick Grayson (Robin/Nightwing)

Nightwing wields his weapons in an alley in Titans.

Like Jason Todd, Dick Grayson doesn't have any special powers. He does have some pretty incredible acrobatic and fighting skills thanks to his time in the circus and his time with Batman. Also like Jason, his power isn't in his fighting capabilities, but in his ability to influence others.

Dick can be incredibly persuasive. He manages to get his old friends to work together even when they've all vowed never to form the Titans again. He gets Gar, Rachel, and Conner to take training as superheroes seriously. He even gets Barbara Gordon to give the Titans a chance when she's trying to make Gotham less reliant on vigilantes. Ultimately, he gets Jason to see the error of his ways as Red Hood and work with him again. While his lack of raw powers leaves him vulnerable to such foes as Trigon, Dick's leadership and fighting skills are enough to make him a reliable Titans member.

Gar Logan (Beast Boy)

Superimposed image of Beast Boy in human and tiger form in Titans.

Beast Boy fans who know the character from comics or animation understand that there are a lot more animals in his repertoire than the live-action series has shown just yet. Right now, Gar is still figuring out how to transform, which means he's limited to being a tiger or a bat. He also, however, is getting pretty adept at hand-to-hand combat in his normal form.

Gar is in the middle of the pack when it comes to power only because he's still figuring out how his special abilities even work. For example, he has had to be encouraged by both Rachel and Dick when it comes to transforming. He is a good influence on others in the group though. A force of positivity, Gar helps Rachel, Kory, and Conner when darkness threatens to consume them.

Johnathan Crane (Scarecrow)

Crane in custody in Titans Season 3

Of the villains in Gotham, Scarecrow is the one that inspires the most fear - both literally and metaphorically. He doesn’t have to use his fear toxins to get into the heads of others though. That’s evident in how influential he is when it comes to the life of Jason Todd.

He’s able to convince Jason that wiping Gotham out and starting over is the best plan, despite Jason spending all of his formative years training with superheroes and trying to save the citizens from villains over and over again. He’s also able to manipulate Jason’s fears to his advantage, and he does it all largely from the shadows.

Conner Kent (Superboy)

Superboy looking confused in Titans.

Conner might be the physically strongest member of the Titans, and he might even have the most impressive variety of powers. Thanks to his preoccupation with having both Superman's and Lex Luthor's DNA used to make him, however, Conner spends a lot of time doubting his own worth and his own intentions, thereby hindering his usefulness as the team's resident powerhouse.

That means when it comes to the kind of social power so many of the other Titans use, Conner doesn't have it. He's not an influential leader on the team. His sheer superpower level, however, does mean he outranks a lot of his teammates but without a way to strategically use it, both on his own and as a Titans member, it's not as effective as it could be.

Jinx

Jinx in costume against a black background in HBO Max Titans

Jinx has a power set not seen in Titans before she makes her season 4 debut. She uses magic. While Rachel also uses magic, her powers, so far, have been very specific and not entirely under her control. Jinx has much better control over her abilities, though most of them tend to be on a smaller scale.

Jinx can do things like freeze her enemies in place for a few moments in time. She can use magic to teleport herself. The downside is that she needs time to recharge after using her powers in a big way as her magical abilities expel a lot of her energy.

Komand'r (Blackfire)

Blackfire's eyes glow outside in Titans.

Initially, it seems like Blackfire doesn't have as much going for her as her sister. She's been shunned by her people, which has made her bitter and unlikely to listen to reason. As she works with the Titans though, she's willing to learn to think about others first. She also gets her birthright back - the power Starfire has been wielding most of her life.

Blackfire's primary weaknesses seem to be her lack of maturity and experience. Unlike Starfire, she can't fully tap into her metahuman potential.

Donna Troy (Wonder Girl)

Donna Troy walking in Titans

It's hard to imagine that Donna isn't considered the most powerful member of the Titans. She's an Amazon, which means she's both stronger and faster than a human being. Donna also managed to literally come back from the dead, but she did have a little help with that one.

In season 3, the audience even sees that Donna has figured out how to channel lightning using her lasso, so the lightning strike that killed her in the 2nd season is no longer an issue. She's also one of the team members to move the Lazarus Pit. That all accounts for some serious power. Donna, however, isn't quite as strong or as influential on other heroes as some of her other teammates like Starfire and Raven.

May Bennett (Mother Mayhem)

Mother Mayhem holding her staff in Titans

Like Jinx, Mother Mayhem is a magi-user added to the series in season 4. She also has a great command over her abilities. Unlike Rachel, May knows exactly what she’s doing with her powers. She’s spent years honing her abilities.

While most of her power seems to be concentrated in her staff, she still understands better than every other magic-user in the show how to manipulate the great power. She even gets the better of Rachel, draining Rachel of the magic that’s been inside her since she was born.

Koriand'r (Starfire)

Starfire raises her hand in Titans.

Starfire is the firstborn child in her family, making her the eventual Queen of Tamaran. For most of her life, she believed herself to be the most powerful in her family thanks to being able to manifest and control a version of fire. As season 3 revealed, however, that wasn't her power to have, but her sister's. She is still able to absorb radiation and release energy in a bolt-like form. She is also one of the four team members to help in moving the Lazarus Pit to save Gotham.

Most DC comic fans know that Starfire is one of the most powerful Titans when it comes to team dynamics. She and Donna found themselves on equal footing when they worked together, but Gar, Conner, and Rachel all prefer to follow Kory's lead, often more so than Dick's.

Trigon

Trigon in front of a house in Titans season 2.

Trigon isn't a Titan, and he doesn't spend much time in the show. His influence and power, however, are all over seasons 1 and 2. Trigon is why Rachel has power at all since he's the supernatural father she inherited it from. He's also the reason she has nightmares and repeatedly loses control of her abilities in the 1st season.

Trigon's influence is so great he's able to lock all of her teammates into dreams or nightmare worlds of their own. Rachel's father could use his power to bring about the end of the world, but there is one character who is, arguably, more powerful than even him.

Rachel Roth (Raven)

Raven's eyes glow in an asylum in Titans.

If there's one person in Titans who is more powerful than Trigon, it's his own daughter. Rachel might not have complete control over her abilities over the 3 seasons of the show, but she's well on her way. She demonstrates a great aptitude for her particular brand of magic long before she's able to control it.

Rachel is the one person who is able to withstand the influence of her father and help her friends out of their nightmare scenarios as well. She's also able to take the literal nightmares of the Lazarus Pit into herself in the 3rd season and give them all to someone else, which is a lot of darkness to hold inside of her.
