Titans star Brenton Thwaites, who plays Dick Grayson, a.k.a. Nightwing, reacts to the idea of doing a crossover with CW's Arrowverse. For nearly a decade, DC TV has had a big presence as Warner Bros. TV has brought multiple iconic heroes and villains to life in several shows. Since 2012, The CW has been a top destination for superhero content through the Arrowverse franchise, largely overseen by executive producer Greg Berlanti. In the last few years, Berlanti has also begun to develop original DC content for HBO Max, which includes the ongoing series Titans and Doom Patrol, while the Green Lantern TV show is his next major project for the streaming service.

Despite not being a traditional Arrowverse spinoff, and aside from Berlanti's involvement with both properties, Titans has only loose ties to The CW's DC franchise. During the Arrowverse crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths, the 5-part event revealed that Titans exists within the franchise's Multiverse, specifically taking place on Earth-9. The Titans universe was one of the worlds wiped out by the Anti-Monitor, before The Spectre rebooted the Multiverse and brought Earth-9 back. While it wasn't a proper crossover, the opportunity certainly exists for Titans and the Arrowverse to cross paths if that is a direction HBO Max, Warner Bros. TV., and The CW would be open to in the future.

This past weekend, Thwaites, who has portrayed Dick Grayson on Titans since 2018, attended Motor City Comic Con, where he briefly talked about finding a way to incorporate the character Damian Wayne into his show. In an interview with Cosmic Circus, the Australian actor was asked about whether or not he'd be open to a crossover with the Arrowverse. When Cosmic Circus brought up the upcoming series Gotham Knights as a way to somehow introduce Damian, Thwaites was very open to that approach, stating the following:

"Oh that’s cool. Yeah I like that. I like that. That’s a cool idea. That’d be a good way. Yeah, that’d be a good way in. It’s a good idea."

Gotham Knights, which comes from the Batwoman writers and producers, will focus on Bruce Wayne's adoptive son creating his own team, which consists of multiple children of Batman's villains. After they get framed for the Caped Crusader's murder, they will be forced to clear their names while also becoming Gotham City's new, unexpected protectors. While not directly tied to the Arrowverse, given the continuities being different in regards to Batman, Gotham Knights got a series pick-up for the 2022-2023 TV season. On the Arrowverse's Batwoman, they've established that Bruce, played by Warren Christie, has been missing for years, while on Titans, Iain Glen's older iteration is active.

Whether or not Titans would ever do a Gotham Knights crossover remains to be seen, but logistically, it wouldn't be impossible. While they would have to find a proper story reason for the two worlds to come into contact, Titans and Gotham Knights benefit from the fact that both productions are rooted in Toronto, Canada. If Titans ever is open to doing a crossover with the Arrowverse, they better do it while it's still possible. Due to The CW sale and the recent completion of the Warner Bros. Discovery merger, several Arrowverse shows have gotten canceled, with only The FlashSuperman & Lois, and the DC teen-drama Stargirl being left on the slate. Only time will tell if Titans, aside from their Crisis on Infinite Earths inclusion, will ever have extensive contact with the Arrowverse in the future.
