The famous "door scene" from James Cameron's Titanic has been recreated perfectly in one fan's Halloween costume. The hugely successful 1997 film was based on the real-life events of the ship Titanic's sinking in April, 1912. Titanic starred Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio as Rose DeWitt Bukater and Jack Dawson; two young lovers separated by both class and tragedy in the box office hit movie.

The door scene has been recreated many times before; often to support viewers' opinions about the divisive ending to Titanic. The scene sees DiCaprio's character Jack freeze to death in the ocean, while Rose floats next to him on the pieces of a wooden door. Many fans believe that Jack would have been able to survive if the characters had made different choices and tried to fit Jack on the door alongside Rose, who ultimately lived. Reconstructions of the scene have been done by viewers the world over, often by taping the shape of the door on the floor to prove that both characters could have fit on top. Some have also argued that if the characters had simply taken turns braving the icy water, Jack would have lasted long enough to be rescued.

Now, Twitter user Wynter Mitchell has posted a video of a Titanic-themed costume that made them "suffocate from laughter." The video depicts a man dressed as Rose wearing a cardboard box that acts as the famous door, while a handmade stuffed Jack hangs off the front. The video begins by circling around the man in the box while Celine Dion's Oscar-winning Titanic theme song, "My Heart Will Go On" plays. The humour is heightened by the fact that the box also has pictures of the singer taped around it. The video ends with the cosplayer dressed as Rose recreating the part of the scene where Rose tries to call a passing boat for help. Check out the full clip below:

Despite the silliness of the video, the attention to detail in the costume is quite impressive. Both Rose and the fake Jack have very realistic looking frost in their hair and eyebrows, just as they did in the original Titanic scene. The Rose costume is particularly close to Cameron's costuming, and even includes a replica of the Heart of the Ocean necklace that is central to the film's plot. The impression of Rose trying desperately to yell, "Come back!" to a passing boat is also hilariously accurate.

Halloween always brings new and creative costumes every year, but this Titanic "door scene" recreation may be one of the funniest and creative ideas of the year. The video manages to tickle both Titanic fans and those who have never seen the movie, but know the scene, which is a true accomplishment. In the tweet, user Mitchell sends a plea to all followers to help find the man in the video so he can be given the credit he deserves, which is certainly a lot. Here's hoping this impressive cosplayer shares another genius costume next Halloween.
