Tinder and Spotify have partnered to bring a new Music Mode to the dating app. While internet and app-based dating services have been a thing for a number of years now, due to the ongoing pandemic, their usage has exploded in popularity during the past year and a half. This has also led to many dating apps, including Tinder, rolling out plenty of new features for users to try.

This isn't the first time the two companies have worked together either. Back in 2016, Spotify integrated with Tinder to launch an Anthem feature that allowed users to present their favorite tunes directly within their profiles. Of course, music and social profiles are not new in general, with MySpace, for those that remember it, a service that was always keen on integrating songs with pages.

Tinder and Spotify have teamed up once again, this time to offer a new Music Mode as an additional personality tweak to user profiles. The new feature exists within Explore and lets users choose an Anthem that automatically plays when someone else taps on the profile. Tinder says, 40-percent of all Gen Z users have added Anthems to their profiles and this has typically resulted in a 10-percent increase in matches. Music Mode will be launching in the coming weeks, and in all markets where Spotify is available.

A New Layer Of Personality

Tinder Music Mode

In the age of social distancing and everything being remote, Music Mode is another layer that can be used to discover something about someone else without having to physically meet in person. Almost everybody listens to music and has certain artists or bands they love. All of which means, music can be an indicator as to whether someone might swipe left instead of right. According to Tinder, the new mode is similar to, "that feeling when you’re at a party and you find out someone else loves the same songs you do."

Music Mode joins other features in the Explore tab, including Hot Takes, Vibes, and Swipe Night. Explore allows users to arrange profiles by interest. For example, if music or going to bars is really important, a user can decide to arrange profiles based on whether or not someone also loves listening to music or heading out on a night out. With so many new features having been added in recent months, there's never been a better time to give the Tinder dating app a try.
