Digital Artist BossLogic has imagined what Timothée Chalamet could look like as a younger version of Loki in the MCU. The popular fan artist has been keeping busy as ever while self-quarantining because of the coronavirus pandemic, releasing social distancing edits of posters for popular superhero movies as a way of (playfully) encouraging everyone to stay safe at home. He's also kept up his practice of imagining what fan-favorite casting choices could look like as comic book characters, with Ana de Armas as the DCEU's Poison Ivy being a recent example.

Loki, of course, was portrayed in the MCU by Tom Hiddleston before meeting his end at Thanos' hands in the opening minutes of Avengers: Infinity War, then coming back to life (in a way) thanks to some time-travel trickery in last year's Endgame. The actor has long been celebrated for his wryly sophisticated performance as the God of Mischief and fans are eagerly anticipating him wreaking havoc on the timeline in the upcoming Loki series on Disney+. But if you've ever wondered what a younger Loki would look like with a little recasting, well, you're in luck.

Inspired by Chalamet's work in the Netflix historical drama The King, BossLogic has whipped together some artwork imagining what the actor would look like as the MCU's Loki. Check it out:

Timothee Chalamet as Young Loki Art Vertical

If Hiddleston hadn't already been cast (and wasn't great in the role), Chalamet would be an inspired casting choice for the part. The God of Mischief is sensitive, smart, and petulant, often all at once, and has a lot in common - both physically and psychologically - with a lot of the characters Chalamet has played in his career so far, especially films like Call Me By Your Name and his collaborations with Greta Gerwig on Lady Bird and Little Women. There's been no indication the Disney+ TV series will feature the trickster god coming face to face with a younger version of himself during his time-traversing escapades, so for now fans will just have to imagine what it would be like if Hiddleston's Loki interacted with Chalamet as his brooding young adult iteration.

While it can feel like every up and coming eventually finds their way into a Marvel or DC superhero project these days, there have yet to be any rumors of Chalamet being under serious consideration to do just that. That's not to say he's against blockbusters in general (he's playing Paul Atreides in Dune later this year), but for the time being it seems he will continue to prioritize working alongside auteur types like Gerwig and Luca Guadagnino. Case in point: assuming the film still opens as planned, Chalamet will return in Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch this summer, poofy hair and all.
