Across the entire franchise, cast members clash left, right, and center (sometimes, through multiple seasons). There are pairings that are clearly doomed from the start.
The Real Housewives franchise has been made famous over the years, due to the dynamics it presents between its cast members. Some of the most fascinating aspects of the shows are the memorable duos, like Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan, and Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson. Each pair is known for having a ride-or-die friendship. On the other hand, instant rivalries always seem to draw viewers in.
There are so many seasons and so many dynamics to analyze. Reddit user lach_james wondered which pairings the community remembered for being dysfunctional from the very beginning. Whether it was unnecessary and instant mutual judgment, or just a genuine and immediate disconnection, there was never any hope for these Real Housewives.
Kyle Richards & Carlton Gebbia
Something was off about Kyle and Carlton from day one. Carlton's Wiccan faith was a strange concept for all of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 4 women to grasp. However, Kyle and Carlton were at odds more than any of the others in the cast. "You've been looking for something with me since day one," Kyle told Carlton at a dinner. The pressure rose all season long, before the two went head to head at the reunion, where Kyle called Carlton, "witchie-f*cking-poo".
Gizelle Bryant & Monique Samuels
Gizelle from The Real Housewives of Potomac seemed to have it out for Monique as soon as she joined the cast. Fans are familiar with Gizelle's tendency to look down on new cast members, but her dislike for Monique lasted for Monique's whole time on the show. "I feel like we had gotten off to a rough start from the beginning," Monique said in season 3. Then, in Monique's last season, after an altercation between her and Candiace Dillard-Bassett, Gizelle took Candiace's side. Monique brought a binder of "receipts" to the reunion and exposed Gizelle's ex-husband, Jamal Bryant.
Teresa Giudice & Melissa Gorga
Perhaps one of the most iconic dynamics in The Real Housewives franchise is Teresa and Melissa from The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Fans are all too familiar with the back and forth between the two, as Melissa (the wife of Teresa's brother, Joe Gorga) continued in her earlier seasons to understand Teresa and get along with her. Unfortunately, there will still issues, and while the sisters-in-law have their moments, it's clear that they'll never be fully able to meet each other in the middle. Sources even revealed recently that Melissa and Joe didn't go to Teresa's recent wedding to Luis Ruelas.
