Warning! Spoilers for Tim Drake: Robin #1 by DC Comics

Tim Drake's Robin is getting his own solo series as the fan-favorite hero will star in the upcoming Tim Drake: Robin #1 from DC Comics. On Thursday, DC revealed what's coming next for Robin, as his latest adventure, spinning out of Batman Urban Legends, will see Tim fighting to protect those closest to him as he operates in his own part of Gotham City.

Tim Drake is one of the main characters who have assumed the role of Batman's sidekick Robin over the years, initially debuting in Batman #436 back in 1989. A great detective in his own right, Tim has become a valued member of the Bat-Family and has taken on additional monikers such as Red Robin and "Drake" while a member of the Young Justice team. However, in the last year, Tim Drake's Robin has again taken the spotlight, as the hero came out as bisexual in a touching story from DC Comics. After starring in a recent DC Pride special comic, Tim Drake's story will continue in a brand new series.

DC Comics revealed that Tim Drake will star in his own solo series called Tim Drake: Robin from Meghan Fitzmartin and Riley Rossmo. The comic will feature Robin facing off against a new villain who takes aim at his personal life, including putting his boyfriend, Bernard, in danger. The solicit also teases that Tim will "carve out a corner of Gotham City for himself" while setting up on a "murder-shack-boat." Tim Drake: Robin #1 will also feature several variant covers. Jorge Jimenez's open-order "One Year Later Era" variant shows the hero grabbing a bite to eat on a snowy rooftop. Meanwhile, Sweeney Boo's 1:25 variant features a closer look at Robin, Dan Mora's 1:50 variant features Tim Drake's Robin with his Young Justice teammates, while Jamal Campbell's 1:100 Teen Titans variant focuses on the hero's time with the superteam. It's a great batch of variant cover art that should excite readers about what's coming next for Tim drake's Robin.

Seeing Tim Drake's Robin get his own series following a noteworthy year at DC Comics shows just how far the fan-favorite hero has come in a short time. He will be starring in the solo series while he's the main Robin in the upcoming Batman run, which is a pretty cool feat in itself. Tim Drake's new series, Tim Drake: Robin, arrives in comic book stores in September.
