Another Tiger King adaptation is in development from Rob Lowe. Hot on the heels of Netflix's wildly successful true-crime docu-series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, Hollywood has been chomping at the bit to create content centered on the wild story and its bizarre titular character. Joe Maldonado-Passage, otherwise known as Joe Exotic, was the main focus of the Netflix series which chronicled his shift from controversial big cat owner to being involved in a murder-for-hire scheme against his arch-nemesis, Carole Baskin.

The series' wild narrative was filled with everything Hollywood craves: unexpected twists and turns, wildly eccentric characters at its core, and, in the end, a true story that really needs to be seen to be believed. Already, a limited series centered on Carole Baskin, that's produced by and starring Saturday Night Live's Kate McKinnon, is currently in the works. Even Dwayne Johnson revealed that he wanted to make a Tiger King movie before discovering the rights were already snatched up by McKinnon. A number of celebrities have also chimed in with their excitement over an upcoming adaptation, with many claiming they'd be perfect for the leading role of Exotic. It's clear that Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin's documentary has struck quite a chord in the world of entertainment, and now Rob Lowe is even jumping on the Tiger King adaptation train.

Lowe took to Instagram to share hilarious photos of himself posing as the titular Tiger King. His caption refers to himself as "Rob Exotic" before revealing that he and Ryan Murphy "will be developing [their] version of this insane story," ending with a simple "stay tuned!" Check out the full image of Lowe below:

Murphy is a very notable showrunner who is known for creating a multitude of popular shows, including FOX's musical sensation Glee, FX's horror anthology series American Horror Story, and its true-crime counterpart American Crime Story. Two years ago, he also signed a 5-year deal with Netflix which included the release of the Golden Globe-nominated series The Politician in 2019, along with its second season which is currently in the works, and an upcoming series titled Hollywood, which is releasing this May. It's clear he has a very stacked plate, but with content like Tiger King at his disposal, it makes sense why he's jumping on that opportunity.

Murphy seems like an excellent fit to help bring Exotic's bizarre and immensely entertaining true story to life. Considering his past shows that covered real-life scenarios, especially those tackled in American Crime Story, he seems like a great choice to create something that's equally fascinating and amusing. With the number of actors clamoring to participate in an adaptation as well, it'll surely attract excellent talent to portray the multiple interesting characters at its center. Especially considering Murphy's deal with Netflix, the adaptation would also already have a home alongside the docu-series. Even though it'll be a while before any of these adaptations are released, Netflix has more Tiger King coming down the pipeline to help keep true-crime fans busy in the meantime.
