Marvel Studios has released the second trailer for Thor: Ragnarok online. Ragnarok marks a new direction for the Thor franchise, as Marvel Studios pushes aside the royal fantasy elements for bright colors, galactic traveling adventures, and much more. The third film still features many characters that fans of this franchise have already come to know, with Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Odin (Anthony Hopkins), and Heimdall (Idris Elba) all back. They are not alone, however, with Mark Ruffalo's Hulk joining in on the action, along with a plethora of brand new characters.

Throughout the production process, Ragnarok continued to sound and look incredibly different from previous Thor films. That proved to be completely accurate with the arrival of the first trailer and the record-breaking response proved that this was the right direction to take. Now following Ruffalo's tease of a second Ragnarok trailer arriving, it is officially here.

Marvel premiered the second Ragnarok trailer during its San Diego Comic-Con 2017 panel. The preview once again features Thor and Hulk battling it out in a gladiator ring that has continued to be prominent in the film's marketing - including, the Ragnarok poster released at D23 last week - and the duo are front and center once more, for the latest trailer.

The newest trailer is composed almost entirely of new footage, which is great news for eager fans. With the film pitched as Thor and Hulk together, the trailer shows plenty of scenes of them, well, together. That includes extended clips from their gladiator dual, along with moments of Ruffalo as simply Bruce Banner and the Hulk talking completely - confirming that Hulk is much smarter here than he was in previous MCU films.

Outside of the two main leads, there are plenty of new moments for the rest of the supporting cast. How Hela (Cate Blanchett) transforms into various outfits is shown, with Skurge (Karl Urban) close by. There is also a heavy emphasis on Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), shown working with Thor and Hulk now and in a new white outfit. The trailer also alludes to Loki (Tom Hiddleston) working with our heroes again. The trailer also gives our first looks at a few supporting characters/villains that have previously been confirmed to appear. There is a quick shot of Hulk's pal Korg, another of Fenris Wolf as it battles Hulk, and one of Hulk leaping at Surtur.

All in all, the trailer maintains the new tone that director Taika Waititi has infused the franchise with. There are plenty of big action moments, beats of comedy, and continues to show a new direction for Thor. With two solid trailers under its belt, Thor: Ragnarok could be another big hit for Marvel Studios to close out the year.
