Thor: Ragnorok helped reinvent the spirit and style of the Thor films, whilst retaining what made the character popular in the first place. What was the new secret ingredient? A nice healthy dose of comedy. In one scene, Thor tries to entice Dr. Bruce Banner to transform into his angry alter ego, The Hulk, as he is very powerful and useful.

Bruce has slight reservations and states that Banner is very powerful and useful too. This leaves Thor to utter the legendary retort. “Is he though?” Of course, as the internet does when it sees anything semi-funny, it makes like The Hulk grabbing a flying Chitauri and rams it into the ground until it is dead.  Here are ten of the funniest “Is it though?” memes.

Do You Like Scary Movies?

A lot of horror movies take liberties when they base their films on “true events.” Basically, if someone went to see a psychiatrist to get through their depression, Hollywood can take that story, add Milla Jovovich and alien probing, and boom, your story is based on “true events.”

Believe us, if everything that happened in the Exorcism Of Emily Rose was true, we'd have undisputed evidence that Satan and the fires of hell were burning below us.

Does What Ever A Legally Contracted Spider Can

When Sony let Spider-man become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe fans rejoiced. Then a couple of years later when they started acting all Sony and threatened to take him away again, fans groaned.

It feels like we can never truly relax knowing that at any time on a whim the picture house that brought us such classics like Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Ghostbuster 2016 can whip away Spidey and keep him for their own horrible, soulless, corporate cinematic universe.

Hammer Of The Gods

Taika Waititi is proving to be one of the greatest directors of modern times, and as brilliant as Ragnorok was there were a couple of decisions, made by the creators or the studios, that may have left fans a little disappointed.

Thor without his might hammer Mijinor is kind of like Cap without his shield or a rainbow-colored Hulk. it just doesn’t feel right, and as proven in Endgame, The Russo brothers may agree.

Nothing Is Permanent In The World Of Comics

As heartbreaking as it was to say goodbye to some of our favorite characters in Infinity War and Endgame if you even have a tiny interest in comics you know that death isn’t permanent. Batman has died and come back twice in the last decade alone, and he doesn’t even have any superpowers!

Using the power of the prequel we are getting a new Black Widow movie and Loki and Vision are set to make their returns in TV shows, and you know that Marvel will wright some alternate dimension/time travel malarky should Robert Downey Jr. ever wish to return to the fray

Flying Solo

Poor Old Alden Ehrenreich. His turn as everybody’s favorite "old pirate" Han Solo was earnest and fair, and he did a great job at making the character his own whilst still emulating the spirit of Harrison Ford.

The problem is he wasn’t Harrison Ford. No one is Harrison Ford, apart from, of course, Harrison Ford, so if anyone took over the role they would face the same fate as not being Harrison Ford.

Mother Knows Best

For the majority of us, nobody knows us like our own mother. Mom has been with us through the good times and the bad times. She was also there when we lied through our teeth, especially in our youth when we used to try and get out of school. So you can’t really blame her for being skeptical when you feel a little under the weather, despite expert opinion.

Precious

You got to feel bad for Smeagol. It can’t be fun being a weird goblin man who lives in a cave with multiple personality disorder and an addiction to a magical golden ring. It’s a problem I’m sure only a few of us can relate too. The real question is would we really mind if we looked as hunky as Chris Hemsworth?

He Tries His Hardest

Hawkeye is an amazing asset to S.H.E.I.L.D. His skills with a bow our unparalleled, and as we learned in Endgame he is also pretty handy with a sword. On top of that, he is a family and his moral compass can not be unbalanced.

Unless of course he is poked with Loki’s staff, and there lies the problem. In a world of gods and monsters, Hawkeye is still just a man. Bless him for trying though.

What Ned Said

Things are looking pretty bleak for Spidey following the events of Spider-man: Far From Home. It appears his secret is out to the whole world. The most surprising thing about this, however, is it wasn’t Ned’s fault!

Ned self-confessed that he is awful at keeping secrets, and despite him almost letting the cat out of the bag a number of times, he was strong enough to keep his promise to Peter. We all need a Ned in our lives.

You Are Being Watched

In our final meme, Thor teams up with the dragon queen herself Daenerys in a bit of paranoia that affects a lot of us during these current times. Sure, you just finished your group chat, but have you REALLY finished your group chat?

Best power off that laptop fully before you pick your nose, let out that wind you’ve been holding in or have a moan about your co-workers.
