Matt Damon makes a surprise appearance during Chris Hemsworth's Thor: Ragnarok interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live. With just three weeks away from debuting worldwide, promotional activities for the God of Thunder's third standalone movie have already been kicked into high gear. This latest video, however, brings even more fun as Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and director Taika Waititi's conversation with Jimmy Kimmel was suddenly interrupted by the arrival of what the host called "The Mighty Bore."

Delivering what has been teased as a new beginning for Thor, Ragnarok looks to be very different to previous movies about the Marvel superhero. Both the film's backdrop and tone are lighter, which intrigues fans who saw the first two, more grim outings of the Asgardian hero. Don't be deceived, however, as the movie's narrative puts Thor and the rest of Asgard in a dire situation thanks to the emergence of Hela, the Goddess of Death.

While doing the promotional rounds for his latest film, Hemsworth's interview on  Jimmy Kimmel Live was interrupted by Damon. When the camera switched to the show's green room to focus on Ruffalo and Waititi, the Good Will Hunting actor sneakily got himself in the frame to the delight and surprise of fans. The conversation about Ragnarok went on, but became a little bit chaotic as the camera tried to hilariously cut Damon's face out of the shot. However, when the focus returned to Hemsworth and Kimmel on stage, Damon pulled his last trick by broadcasting a live feed of his face on the jumbo screen that serves the show's backdrop making it hard to escape him. You can watch the funny clip above.

The actor's surprising appearance further fuels ongoing rumors that Damon has a cameo in Thor: Ragnarok. Last month, it was reported he has an unannounced role in the film where he portrays an Asgardian actor playing Loki in what seems to be a re-enactment of the events of the first Thor movie. The thought of it seemed to be outlandish at that time, but seeing the actor pull this stunt and even attend the red carpet premiere of the Marvel flick makes us re-think the plausibility of the rumor.

Having said that, it could also be nothing more but a coincidence. Damon has a long-standing on-screen feud with Kimmel and him popping out of nowhere on the host's program is nothing new. At one point he even had Ben Affleck sneak him into the show while his friend was on to promote last year's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice

Whether Thor: Ragnarok has a Damon cameo or not, Disney and Marvel seem to be very confident in the movie, as indicated by the studio lifting the review embargo for the project two weeks before it rolls out, which is earlier compared other embargoes that can be a week or just a few days. Critics who have already seen Thor: Ragnarok have voiced generally positive reactions to the epic blockbuster - citing its perfect mix of humor and adventure that fit Hemsworth's third superhero standalone.
