A new Chinese trailer for Thor: Ragnarok has arrived online, featuring several new snippets of footage from the god of thunder's fight against the goddess of death, Hela (Cate Blanchett). It’s been another incredible year for comic films so far, including Marvel Studios’ much anticipated debut venture into solo Spider-Man films with Spider-Man: Homecoming as well as DC’s first big hit with critics and fans in Wonder Woman, but the year isn’t over yet.

Thor: Ragnarok marks the third film in the Thor series and the seventeenth film overall for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s also perhaps the most hyped of all three Thor films, due to the star-studded cast list and the well-received teaser trailer that released earlier this year. Thor: Ragnarok is also poised to make waves internationally, including in key markets like China and Japan (the latter had a trailer release just last month). With that in mind, Marvel has now released a new international trailer tailored to Chinese audiences.

Much like the Japanese trailer, this latest look at the movie teases a cameo appearance by Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). While much of the footage has been seen before in other trailers, there is some new stuff for fans to obsess over as well. This includes teases of a fight between Thor and Hela on the Rainbow Bridge, as well as a different look at Surtur the fire demon.

While the Chinese trailer may not offer much in the way of new footage, the new scenes that are included serve to further display the colorful palette that director Taika Waititi used for Thor: Ragnarok. This is something of a departure from Thor: The Dark World, which was set largely in London and was more down-to-Earth (literally).

Waititi's sequel seems to be on track for a better critical and fan reception than Thor: The Dark World, which failed to really deliver a compelling story or a memorable villain in the eyes of most fans and critics. Hopefully these issues won’t be a problem for Thor: Ragnarok, in which Thor and his friends will be trying to prevent the goddess of death herself from bringing about the apocalypse. Moreover, since this is one of the last solo movies before the arrival of Avengers: Infinity War next year, Thor: Ragnarok may reveal the location of the final Infinity Stone, and set things in motion for the biggest superhero team-up yet.
