The latest Thor: Love & Thunder trailer has arrived giving an even better look at the upcoming Marvel movie as well as a horrifying glimpse at Christian Bale's MCU villain Gorr the God Butcher. Chris Hemsworth is returning for his fourth solo outing as the God of Thunder and this time he will be joined by a veritable roster of MCU mainstays and fresh faces. After the events of Avengers: Endgame saw Thor leave earth with the Guardians of the Galaxy, Chris Pratt and his caravan of misfits will be joining Hemsworth on his latest adventure. Tessa Thompson will also be returning as Valkyrie, with director Taika Waititi reprising his role as Korg. In a major coup, Natalie Portman will also be returning as Jane Foster, with Love & Thunder set to mark her debut as Mighty Thor. Russell Crowe will also star as Zeus with Christian Bale rounding out the cast as Gorr the God Butcher.

The first Thor: Love & Thunder trailer promised a grand return for the titular character. Set to the tune of "Sweet Child O Mine" by Guns N Roses, Waititi's return as director to the MCU is in the same vein as his critically acclaimed Thor: Ragnarok which saw Thor transformed from one of the least notable Avengers to a lovable himbo in search of a deeper purpose in life. This will be further explored in Love & Thunder as self-exploration is emphasized in the first trailer that shows Thor retiring Stormbreaker and setting out across the cosmos to find his true self. Along the way, he'll encounter Gorr, Greek gods, and his former lover, putting a wrench in those self-discovery plans.

Now, Marvel has dropped the latest Thor: Love & Thunder trailer. In the video, Korg can be seen telling a story about Thor, detailing his life post-Avengers: Endgame. We see the God of Thunder's reaction to his first encounter with Jane Foster as Mighty Thor. Then, the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer dives deep into the conflict that will drive the latest MCU entry. Gorr the God Butcher arrives looking quite terrifying and announcing his goal of eliminating every god that exists. Check out the video below:

Also in the jam-packed Thor: Love and Thunder trailer is the first look at Russell Crowe's Zeus and more of Thor's adventures in what is presumably Olympus. In a trademark Waititi moment, Thor is unceremoniously disrobed in front of a slew of Olympians and their reactions are hilarious. In addition to that, the trailer shows Thor and Jane interacting for the first time since their break-up, with Thor shocked and impressed to see her wielding Mjolnir only after the hammer flies away from him and into the hands of his former beau mid-battle.

Of course, all of this pales in comparison to the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer's biggest reveal. Like its predecessor, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU is once again dabbling in horror, with Bale's Gorr the God Butcher drenched in inky blacks and an ashy gray that only serves to highlight his sinister yellow glare. What follows is footage of Gorr destroying a planet, proclaiming his desire to kill all gods, and a battle between him, Valkyrie, and Thor. With just under two months until the next Marvel movie release, the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer only serves to hype up one of the summer's biggest releases and quite possibly the MCU's most visually audacious since the God of Thunder's last film.
