The first script reading for Thor: Love & Thunder already took place. Chris Hemsworth teams up again with Taika Waititi for his fourth solo film in the MCU. The pair reunites after delivering Thor: Ragnarok in 2017 which significantly altered the titular character and his sub-franchise for the better.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there will be a bit longer wait for Love & Thunder following Marvel Studios' decision to shift its whole Phase 4 slate. originally slated to release in November 2021,  Waititi's upcoming project has pushed back to February 2022. Despite the delay, the cast and crew for Thor 4 are already kickstarting the process as filming is slated to begin in January in Australia. In his latest social media post, Hemsworth provides an update regarding the project, but it doesn't seem like their latest meeting was as productive as one would hope for.

Taking it to his official Instagram account, the actor revealed that he and Waititi, who is also writing the film, have just finished their first script meeting for Love & Thunder. Interestingly, however, the image Hemsworth shared in relation to this update is a snap of the director comfortably sleeping in what appears to be a park or a backyard. Check out the photo below:

When Love & Thunder was officially announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, pertinent details were also confirmed including the return of Tess Thompson's Valkyrie, meanwhile, Natalie Portman is also making her way back into the MCU AS Jane Foster. This time, however, she's also poised to play a bigger role as she assumes her superhero persona from the comics as Mighty Thor. Portman recently revealed that Jane's cancer storyline will factor in the movie. The Guardians of the Galaxy are also expected to factor in the movie, which makes sense considering that Thor joined them in their future adventures at the end of Avengers: Endgame. Prior to Hemsworth's recent social media post, he shared that the film will be different than all the other movies that he's done in the MCU which is intriguing considering how much he had gone through a lot of changes over the last couple of years.

Chances are that Hemsworth was simply joking with this image. The actor and Waititi had been spotted hanging out in Australia in the last several months since filming for Thor: Love & Thunder had been delayed when the coronavirus pandemic began earlier this year. Just because he's kidding in his latest social media post, that doesn't mean, however, that they haven't talked about the project. If anything, it's possible the pair and other cast and crew members have been discussing what they want to do in the film. That way, they can hit the ground running immediately with a locked-in story once production officially starts.
