Warning: This article contains spoilers for Thor: Love & Thunder.

The latest episode of Pitch Meeting takes on the MCU's latest effort, Thor: Love and Thunder. Directed by Taika Waititi and starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Russell Crowe, and Tessa Thompson, the film serves as the fourth solo outing for Hemsworth's God of Thunder in the MCU. The story adapts both the Gorr the God Butcher (Bale) storyline and Jane Foster's (Portman) stint as The Mighty Thor from the comics, while also picking up after the events of Avengers: Endgame as Thor attempts to forge a new path forward.

Reviews for Thor: Love and Thunder have thus far been mixed when compared to most other Marvel films, sitting at a 67% fresh critical score and an 80% fresh audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. It's only 1% higher than Thor: The Dark World, which is oft-referred to as one of the worst MCU films; The Incredible Hulk and Eternals sit just below them. While the reviews aren't stellar, the box office isn't suffering thus far, with Thor: Love and Thunder currently at $329 million worldwide, making it a solid start for the film's 45-day theatrical window.

The many complaints and issues with Thor: Love and Thunder are hilariously addressed in the latest episode of Screen Rant's Pitch Meeting series. Host Ryan George playfully points out the film's flaws, including Thor Odinson being "dumber than ever" and many of the cooler scenes taking place off-screen, including Jane Foster's first transformation into the Mighty Thor and Gorr the God Butcher actually butchering gods. The excessive comedy is also taken to task, including Thor's incessant screaming goats, as well as the inconsistencies in relation to story and characters. Check out the full video below:

The episode also makes note of Thor: Love and Thunder treating everything as hilarious all the time, even in the face of Jane having stage 4 terminal cancer. The overall humor of the film has been knocked quite a bit by its detractors. There's also the issue of New Asgard's ice cream shop, called Infinity Conez, which has a logo of Thanos' gauntlet holding an ice cream cone. George makes mention that maybe it's in poor taste given the devastation that Thanos inflicted upon Earth and on the Asgardians. The other glaring problem the Pitch Meeting episode brings up is the very existence of the Realm of Eternity, which grants one wish to whoever makes it there. George notes that it might have been easier for Thanos to go there instead of collecting up Infinity Stones or even the Avengers going there instead of inventing time travel.

Thor: Love and Thunder certainly has its charm and a few rousing moments overall, but the Pitch Meeting hits the nail on the head for some of its more unforgivable oversights. While many find it barely an inconvenience to overlook some of the problems mentioned, there are many more who have difficulty enjoying the film when it has so many perplexing issues with tone, style, and story. While Thor: Ragnarok enjoyed a reinvention of sorts with Waititi's oddball sensibilities, it appears the victory lap of Thor: Love and Thunder may have been a rainbow bridge too far, which hopefully can be reigned in a bit if a fifth outing ever comes to fruition.
