The official Thor: Love and Thunder teaser trailer is now available in 4K IMAX, revealing even more of Russell Crowe's Zeus. Marvel Studios confirmed plans for a fourth Thor movie starring Chris Hemsworth in 2019, with Taika Waititi returning as director. Love and Thunder also marks the return of Natalie Portman to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the film will show Jane Foster transform into The Mighty Thor while dealing with a cancer diagnosis. It is through her return that the two Thors will face off with Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) in an epic clash. However, the villain also must earn his title by slaying other gods, such as Russell Crowe's Zeus.

There is great anticipation for Thor: Love and Thunder, so much so that there was even speculation as to when Marvel was going to release the movie's first trailer as its July 2022 release date neared. Marvel Studios finally answered the call in mid-April when the teaser arrived. The footage offered the first look at Portman's Mighty Thor, a hint at the role the Guardians of the Galaxy play in the film, and Thor's new peaceful outlook on life. It also included a brief look at Zeus and Olympus, the home of the Greek gods.

Even though the 4K Thor: Love and Thunder IMAX trailer doesn't include any new footage, it does offer fans a better glimpse of what they can see in theaters. Taika Waititi filmed the sequel using IMAX cameras and has specifically formatted certain sequences for the larger screen size. This is standard practice for MCU movies at this point, as Disney+ even recently gave subscribers the option to watch many Marvel movies in their IMAX formats.

The Thor: Love and Thunder trailer might only be a few days old, but the reaction to it has been incredibly positive. The video accumulated over 200 million viewers in the first 24 hours after its release. The Thor: Love and Thunder teaser trailer has satisfied fans for now, but there is certainly a desire to see more footage, especially of Mighty Thor in action and an official look at Gorr the God Butcher. The latter could be bad news for Russell Crowe's Zeus, though, as there's a good chance he may die as a result of Bale's villainous character's mission.
