Chris Hemsworth showed how he got his massive arms for the upcoming Marvel sequel Thor: Love and Thunder. Hemsworth is slated to return as the God of Thunder in his fourth solo film. Love and Thunder is helmed by Ragnarok's Taika Waititi and is set to bring together a slew of MCU characters that Thor has encountered throughout his tenure. Natalie Portman will be back as Jane Foster and the film is set to track her transformation into Mighty Thor. Additionally, Tessa Thompson will reprise her role as Valkyrie, while most of the Guardians of the Galaxy are set to appear. Christian Bale is onboard as the film's antagonist, Gorr the God Butcher, while Matt Damon will return as Fake Loki.

Waititi's Ragnarok breathed new life into the God of Thunder's solo films after Thor: The Dark World and his next take on the character is highly anticipated. Love and Thunder will be the MCU's second theatrical feature of 2022 following the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in March. How it will connect to the overarching plot of the MCU remains a mystery - with all the focus on the encroaching danger of the multiverse, audiences will be looking for any connection to the chaos, but there's one thing that could be quite distracting.

Hemsworth posted a new training video to his Instagram detailing his brutal regimen that he calls "the most uncomfortable" he's ever experienced. The 8-minute long video shows Hemsworth doing various exercises, including lifting weights and doing some rope work. Throughout the video, the actor can be heard grunting and jokingly complaining before he shows off his massive biceps at the end. Check it out below:

Hemsworth has showed off his training before and his strength has even amazed his Love and Thunder co-star Portman. It's clear that Thor will be in a different place when the upcoming film releases. Last seen in Avengers: Endgame, the God of Thunder was wracked by depression over his inability to reverse Thanos' snap. This saw him turn to alcohol and lose the physique he is known for.

It may be good that he is back in tip-top shape, though, as Thor will need all the strength he can get to fight Gorr the God Butcher. Bale's villain looks to be formidable and terrifying and while there's no telling what kind of adventure the God of Thunder will be going on in the upcoming movie, if Hemsworth's training is any indication, it will be a tough one. Thor: Love and Thunder is slated to hit theaters May 6, 2022.
