It has been revealed that Thor: Love and Thunder cut scenes featuring Avengers: Infinity War and Thor: Ragnarok characters. Director Taika Waititi brings the God of Thunder back to the big screen as he reunites with Chris Hemsworth for this MCU blockbuster. Thor: Love and Thunder features an expanded cast compared to Thor: Ragnarok, which includes several members of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Valkyrie, and the return of Jane Foster.

In his newest outing in Thor: Love and Thunder, the Avenger and his allies are set to square off with Christian Bale's Gorr the God Butcher. Very little is known about the film's villain thus far, but early reviews for the movie praise the actor's performance, which is one thing for fans to be excited about. Apparently, however, Thor almost had a couple of other potential friends appearing in Thor: Love and Thunder, as Waititi initially planned on bringing back a couple of familiar faces from his past adventures.

Speaking with Prensaescenario (via CBR), Bale reveals he filmed scenes with Avengers: Infinity War's Peter Dinklage as Eitri and Thor: Ragnarok's Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster. The actor doesn't get into specifics about what those scenes were all about, but he adds that it's not uncommon for great material to end up on the cutting room floor. Read Bale's full quote below:

I got to work with Peter Dinklage, that's not in the final film. I got to work with him and he's fantastic. I got to work with Jeff Goldblum, he's not in the final film either. As you see, lots of stuff ends up on the cutting room floor, even though it is beautiful, brilliant stuff.

Production of Thor: Love and Thunder was delayed significantly due to the coronavirus pandemic. Leading to its start and even all throughout its principal photography, there were various rumors that several characters who weren't officially on the film's casting sheet will appear in it. Both Dinklage and Goldblum were once rumored to reprise their respective MCU roles in the blockbuster. It turns out that those claims were true, but, unfortunately, their scenes were ultimately deleted. In any case, their bits weren't the only ones scrapped, as Bale revealed his favorite Gorr the God Butcher scene was left out of the theatrical cut.

Now, it'll be interesting to see if there are any other surprise cameos in Thor: Love and Thunder, regardless of whether they were kept or removed from the final version of the movie. Both Waititi and Hemsworth already ruled out Loki's appearance, which makes the movie the first Thor installment that doesn't feature Tom Hiddleston. But, aside from him, there were also rumors that Idris Elba's Heimdall would be in it, so fans will be heading into theaters with plenty of suspense on opening weekend.
