Content Warning: The following article contains spoilers for the Marvel movie Thor: Love and Thunder.

The most recent addition to Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor: Love and Thunder, follows the protagonist's experiences as he goes against Gorr. Alongside Thor are King Valkyrie, Korg, and of course, Dr. Jane Foster. As Mighty Thor, she plays a crucial role in defeating the powerful antagonist but unfortunately has to give the ultimate sacrifice to change his mind about murdering all the gods across the universe.

Right before Jane's heartbreaking death, she whispers something inaudible into Thor's ear, letting him know that she has "figured out" her "catchphrase" – the god of thunder thinks "it's perfect." Fans on Reddit have flocked to various threads with their own theories about what that perfect catchphrase could be, with some being serious guesses and others being hilarious jokes.

It’s Thorbin Time

Jared Leto Attacking in Morbius

The superhero film released earlier this year, Morbius, almost instantly became infamous for all the wrong reasons. The movie portrays the eponymous protagonist's story after being turned into a vampire, and it doesn't do a great job at it.

One of the funniest reactions to Morbius is the meme, "it's Morbin time," which is a joke about the titular character's fictional attempts at getting his catchphrase right. It's also a play on the Power Rangers' catchphrase "It's Morphin' Time." Ultimatro extends this ongoing joke to Love and Thunder, saying that they "loved the part where Jane whispered 'it's thorbin' time' into Thor's ear." It's a gut-busting possibility that's probably true in some places out in the multiverse.

Thunderin’ For A Rumblin’

Natalie Portman as Jane Foster The Mighty Thor in Thor Love and Thunder

Jane originally seeks out Mjolnir in the hopes that it would somehow help her cure her terminal cancer, but she doesn't expect the way it transforms her into Mighty Thor. As long as she holds the hammer, she's imbued with the god of thunder's abilities, which include being able to manipulate thunder and lightning.

This is likely the inspiration behind _DarkJak_'s funny suggestion about what her catchphrase could be, simply stating that it's "thunderin for a rumblin." It's not that hard to imagine Jane lifting Mjolnir up to the sky, and with the sparks flying, shouting the cheesy line.

Gorr Was Right

Christian Bale as Gorr in Thor Love and Thunder

Gorr is the powerful villain from Love and Thunder whose anger about his god's nonchalance and pompousness is compounded by the corruption caused by the Necrosword. The movie depicts him in a somewhat sympathetic light, focusing on the tragic loss of his daughter instead of on his murderous rampage around the universe.

The user Sorge74 proposes an unlikely catchphrase related to the antagonist, pointing out that Jane could have whispered "Gorr was right" before her death. It's highly unlikely considering she sacrificed her life to stop him and tried to convince him to choose Love instead of his original wish with some of her final breaths.

Expired Warranty

It's not the first time someone has whispered something inaudible into Thor's ear – a popular storyline from the comics portrays Nick Fury doing the same thing to the god of thunder. Instead of making him laugh, the words cause him to become unworthy, which is potentially referenced in the film, as it's mentioned that Jane taught him how to be worthy.

Countless memes and funny lines about what Nick's words could have been flooded the fandom, which is what's happening now with Love and Thunder. One humorous idea comes from Mzzdahlia, who thinks Jane said "we been trying to get a hold of you about your car's expired warranty" – a quote anyone who has received the call from scammers posing as car dealer representatives will recognize.

Queen Amidala

Queen Amidala on her throne in Phantom Menace

Before her stint in the MCU, Natalie Portman was known for her role in Star Wars films. She plays Queen Amidala, the cunning and wise fourteen-year-old ruler of Naboo, who has a tendency to pose as one of her many handmaidens for her own protection.

This is exactly what JustAnotherAviatrix references with their witty theory about Jane's catchphrase, explaining that it could be "Your Honor, I am Queen Amidala!" It's a callback to one particularly iconic scene in Star Wars: Episode I where the queen reveals herself to the Gungans in order to gain their trust.

The Tragedy Of Darth Plagueis The Wise

Palpatine and Anakin talk about Darth Plagueis in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith

In Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, a scene featuring Chancellor Palpatine and Anakin Skywalker is immortalized initially through a copypasta, and then through memes. The well-known scene shows the villain telling the story of Darth Plagueis, which is meant to further lure Anakin to the dark side.

The Redditor Cuish believes Jane whispers Palpatine's line: "Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise?" This could be because at that moment, Anakin is having visions of Padme (played by Portman) dying in childbirth. If Jane does bizarrely choose that catchphrase, it could also be a reference to how Darth Plagueis could save others but not himself, which is exactly what happens to her.

Eat My Hammer

Throughout Love and Thunder, Jane has several attempts at nailing her catchphrase. It's meta-commentary poking fun at Marvel heroes and their need for a memorable line. Thor himself admits that it took him a while to find the ideal quote for him, which is "this ends here and now."

Aside from the funny catchphrase "let's bring the rainbow," RoccoSteal believes Jane's line “EAT MY HAMMER!!!” is "pretty good too." It's something she comes up with while brainstorming with Thor in Omnipotence City, which she then repeats during her epic fight against Gorr.

Mighty Thorn

Jane Foster holding Mjolnir in Thor Love and Thunder

Jane's transformation into Mighty Thor shows her at her strongest, despite the frail person hiding behind the outfit and hammer. It's not clear how long she stays in New Asgard with Valkyrie before Thor's arrival, but it's obvious that she has been practicing with her weapon while there.

Redditor captures Thor's feelings upon seeing her using Mjolnir for the first time with the catchphrase "Mighty thorn in my side." The god of thunder never truly got over the love of his life and seeing her with his ex-weapon only brings the emotions back.

F**k Cancer

Jane-Foster-Mighty-Thor-Love-Thunder

With her cool outfit and impressive weapon, it's easy to forget the fact that Jane has previously been diagnosed with terminal cancer. This is why she seeks out the weapon in the first place. Jane, being the kind of person she is, doesn't let the disease stop her from using her time with Mjolnir to do as much good as possible.

Her death in Thor's arms is one of the saddest moments in the MCU, but OddGoldfish adds a defiant element to it by stating that she whispered "f**k cancer." It's certainly a possibility given everything fans know about Jane and her unmatchable fighting spirit.

Love And Thunder

The final moments of Jane's life are more than enough to convince Gorr to choose love and Love, his daughter, instead of needless murder. He uses his one wish from Eternity to bring her back, trusting in Jane's promise that she won't be alone.

The Redditor VolksDK believes Jane could just be referencing his daughter (or perhaps the movie itself), stating that "maybe it's supposed to be 'love and thunder'?" It could be why Thor decides to become the young girl's father figure after Jane and Gorr's deaths.
