Thor executes the snap to defeat Thanos in Avengers: Endgame fan-art. It's been more than a year since the Joe and Anthony Russo-directed film hit theaters, and yet, it remains to be a popular topic of conversation among fans. The culminating movie not only wrapped the Infinity Saga, but it also served as the swan song for some of the original MCU heroes. Unlike Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow, however, the God of Thunder's adventures continue in Phase 4.

It had been a rough few years for Thor. Starting with the death of his father, Odin, and destruction of his home in Thor: Ragnarok, he saw half of his remaining people die and then half of the galactic population following at the hands of Thanos. Among the surviving heroes, Thor was one of the most devastated by the Avengers' loss to the Mad Titan since he got very close to taking him down, almost preventing the purple alien's snap. He got so depressed because of this failure that he opted to fully check out of his superhero life and decided to live life permanently as a bum.

Even when the idea of the time heist came about, Thor wasn't still fully back to his old self as he would suffer panic attacks. It was only at the beginning of Endgame's final battle that he returned to his old form, realizing how important it was for them to defeat Thanos properly. Camille Vialet's brand new fan-art takes the God of Thunder's commitment to making sure Thanos no longer poses a threat to the MCU by imagining him putting on the gauntlet and snapping his finger to eradicate the villain and his minions.

Thor did offer his services in wielding the power of six Infinity Stones in Endgame. While the Avengers discussed who can put on the Stark-created gauntlet to bring back those who perished through Thanos' snap, he volunteered himself, desperately wanting to contribute to the team's effort to undo the Mad Titan's genocide five years prior. Due to his mental state, however, everyone agreed that he's not in the best shape to do the massive task, especially since they assumed that they only had one shot in doing it right. In the end, Smart Hulk put on the metal glove while Thor watched from the sidelines. Considering the fact that Smart Hulk didn't die executing the snap (unlike Tony Stark), perhaps Thor would have survived as well if he was allowed to put on the metal glove. Given the fact that he's a literal god, the chances are that he would have certainly faired better than Stark.

With the Infinity Saga now finished, Thor is off to have some new adventures. Officially free from his responsibilities of being King of Asgard after relegating those duties to Valkyrie, he's free to pursue anything he wants. This is one of the most exciting things about Thor: Love and Thunder as director Taika Waititi has a clean slate when crafting Thor's arc for the film. Still, it's fun to wonder what his send-off would look like compared to Iron Man and Captain America in Avengers: Endgame.
